Woodland Cottage sleeps up to seven guests (plus an extra child on a pull-out bed) in accommodation split across three floors, and is nicely placed in the pretty Cotswolds village of Long Compton in South Warwickshire.
With lots of original character including beams on the ceiling and a fabulous inglenook fireplace in the sitting room with bread oven, this attractive Cotswolds stone cottage offers a cosy retreat that has been enhanced with modern conveniences to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing all year round.
Whether you are planning a family holiday or getting away with friends to catch up, the Cotswolds is an excellent choice with a beautiful timeless landscape dotted with honey coloured villages, ancient market towns, fabulous walking and excellent pubs and restaurants.
Sitting within a tranquil valley, Long Compton nestles amidst an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, peppered with thatched cottages, an ancient church and a country inn serving good ale and excellent locally sourced food. The village is well placed for enjoying some of the Cotswolds most popular walking routes, namely the Macmillan and Shakespeare Way - two long-distance footpaths offering miles of fabulous walking. Just a mile outside the village are the Neolithic Rollright Stones, an ancient site of much interest to archaeologists and historians and a must to visit during your stay.
Located on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border, there are plenty of attractions close by for day trips out. Browse the shops in the market towns of Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and historic Stow-on-the-Wold, or wander around the beautiful grounds of Batsford Arboretum with its Falconry Centre. Visit Stratford-upon-Avon and take in a production at the Shakespeare Theatre, enjoy some retail therapy or pack yourself a picnic, hire a boat and explore the River Avon. Visit Warwick's majestic castle, one of the areas many National Trust properties and gardens, or visit Cheltenham Racecourse - the choices are endless with something for everyone whether you want to be active or lazy.
