Heritage Mews is a superb 5 Star Gold Award self-catering cottage, in an excellent, peaceful location in Stratford-upon-Avon’s Old Town. Close to the River Avon, with delightful riverside walks, a pleasant ten minute stroll takes you to Stratford’s charming historic town centre, with picturesque streets with fine half-timbered buildings, Shakespeare Family Homes, world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre, riverside parks and gardens and great variety of excellent restaurants, pubs, traditional tea rooms and independent shops.

The two-bedroom cottage sleeps three people and with the added benefit of off-street parking for two cars and a truly delightful private courtyard garden, it is the perfect choice for couples and small families looking for a holiday home in Stratford-upon-Avon. All the amenities, famous sites and attractions are within easy walking distance. Guests can enjoy unlimited free WiFi, a full HD smart television, sound system with iPod dock, high quality linens and controllable central heating which make the cottage ideal for a short break or longer stay at any time of the year.

Heritage Mews is close to Holy Trinity Church, situated on the banks of the River Avon and where William Shakespeare was baptised and buried. From here stroll into town and to the theatre along the riverside path, explore Stratford-upon-Avon’s medieval centre with its beautiful architecture and take in the town’s special atmosphere. Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace and his Schoolroom in the magnificent 15th century Guildhall and watch a play in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Relax in riverside gardens and parkland or at a waterside café or bar. Enjoy a river cruise in an Edwardian pleasure launch or a City Sightseeing bus tour of the famous sites. Explore riverside trails through peaceful Warwickshire countryside.

Within a short drive through glorious countryside are the quintessential Cotswold villages of Chipping Campden and Broadway, many interesting stately homes and National Trust properties and gardens including Hidcote, Charlecote Park, Packwood House and Coughton Court, the market town of Warwick with its famous castle, and numerous excellent traditional country pubs.

Stratford-upon-Avon is a year-round holiday destination. Visit at Christmastime and enjoy the town’s wonderful Christmas Lights and Markets, from 25 November 2021 – great for Christmas shopping. Heritage Mews is a modern town cottage in Stratford's Old Town area. The high standard of accommodation is recognised with a 5-Star Gold Award from VisitEngland, the national tourist board.

Downstairs:

  • Off the hall is a lovely light sitting/dining room with large windows and glass door that opens into the delightful private courtyard garden. The sitting area has a two-seater sofa, armchair, a Smart HD TV with a DVD player, and a DAB radio/CD player with an iPod dock. The owners have stocked the house with books, maps and information on the local area to help you plan your activities.
  • Also off the hall is a compact kitchen, fully-equipped with high quality appliances including an electric oven with a gas hob, a microwave, an electric coffee maker, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer for your convenience.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a king-sized (5ft-wide) bed with a pocket-sprung mattress and luxurious cotton bed linen. The room has plenty of storage, a wardrobe, bedside cabinets and a dressing table, allowing you to unpack and feel at home.
  • Second bedroom with a full-sized (3ft-wide) single bed and ample storage, a wardrobe, bedside table and chest of drawers.
  • Both bedrooms have a DAB radio and alarm clock. Two Dyson bladeless portable fans are provided.
  • Bathroom with a mains-powered Grohe shower over the bath, shaving point, wash hand basin, mirrored cabinet, plenty of shelving and a WC. Complimentary British Pecksniff’s Mood Therapy toiletries and plentiful thick fluffy Turkish cotton towels are provided.

Outside: After a busy day of sightseeing and exploration, pour yourself a glass of wine and settle back in the privacy of your courtyard garden furnished with Kettler table and chairs, and maintained to be beautiful in every season. In summer the fences are clothed in flowering climbers and shrubs and there are colourful pots of geraniums and fuchsias. In autumn and winter pots of pansies and berried shrubs add colour and interest, followed by a variety of spring bulbs. At Christmas time twinkling coloured lights adorn the small tree.

There is off-street parking for two cars - a highly coveted feature in a busy town.
