There are an abundance of attractions and things to do in the Cotswolds and our Cotswolds Guide can help you get the most out of your stay. The best way to immerse yourself in the Cotswolds is to get your walking boots on. Whether you fancy a gentle stroll to a nearby village, or an adventurous trek across the hills, a good place to start is somewhere along the Cotswold Way National Trail. You will be rewarded with stunning countryside, quiet valleys, tranquil villages, historic monuments and plenty of welcoming pubs!
If driving is more your thing there are some great routes and plenty of idyllic villages and towns to explore. The popular market towns of Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden are all within a short drive of each other. Stop off to explore the quirky shops, pretty side streets and impressive market squares. Alternatively, explore the area surrounding the beautiful village of Broadway. Enjoy the stunning views from Broadway Tower and Deer Park and then drive 3 miles south to marvel at the lavender fields at Cotswold Lavender. Treat yourself to a cream tea with one of their delicious lavender scones or try your first lavender flavoured ice cream!
Arguably one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on-the-water is often described as ‘the Venice of the Cotswolds’. On a warm summers’ day go for a meander along the river Windrush and enjoy a picnic whilst cooling your feet off in the water. In the cooler months take a stroll down the river to one of the many charming surrounding villages. You will be spoilt for choice with a number of cosy pubs where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch and while the afternoon away. If you really want to get away from it all you can walk the Windrush Way to Winchcombe. Railway fans should visit Bourton Model Railway, or any mini explorers or bird lovers can go dinosaur hunting or marvel at the King Penguins at Birdland Park and Gardens.
Whether you are looking for a cosy retreat with walks from the front door, or a grand home from home to get away and catch up with friends, we have some great last minute offers on a number of fantastic holiday cottages to rent in the Cotswolds.
