Jackdaw Cottage is one of three cosy holiday cottages located on Westley Farm in the Golden Valley close to the Cotswolds village of Chalford. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, an abundance of wonderful walks and welcoming pubs it is hard not to feel relaxed and rejuvenated after a holiday here. Sleeping four people in a double and twin bedroom, with a private garden and its own wood-fired hot tub, it is perfect for couples, friends or families. During the warmer months (spring through to autumn) the owners also rent out three yurts and three cabins that are hidden away in the ancient woodland on the farm. They all have their own wood fired hot tubs, BBQ and fire pit, providing the perfect romantic setting for a weekend away.
The holiday cottages are all located in their own peaceful spot on the 70 acre farm ensuring that your only neighbours are the local deer and buzzards flying overhead. However, whilst you might feel you are miles from the nearest town it is just an easy twenty minute stroll across the fields to the nearest pub at Frampton Mansell where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch or sample a pint of the local ale. When you are ready to explore a little further afield there are plenty of footpaths meandering their way through the gorgeous Cotswolds countryside. Follow the canal for 40 minutes to another pub, or enjoy exploring the pretty honey coloured villages.
The market town of Stroud, perhaps most famous for its fantastic Farmer’s Market, is just four miles away. Pick up some supplies for dinner or enjoy browsing the selection of independent and quirky shops. Head ten miles in the other direction and you will reach the Roman town of Cirencester. Steeped in history and heritage, the once prosperous wool town, is now a lovely spot to spend a lazy afternoon. Other local activities include playing golf at Minchinhampton Golf Club or if you are looking for something a bit different explore the views from the air at the Cotswold Gliding Club. Both Berkeley and Sudeley Castle are just 40 minutes away.

Each cottage at Westley Farm has lots of classic charm with well-equipped kitchens, fabulous thick Cotswolds stone walls, open fires or log burners and mod cons that include WiFi, digital TV's with Freeview and 4G to keep you in touch with the outside world if need be. Dogs are most welcome to accompany you on your country break and the owners are only too happy to help if there is anything you need during your stay.
Jackdaw Cottage is a true romantic gem and nicely tucked away at the end of farm track. Sitting on the edge of a meadow surrounded by ancient trees, Jackdaw Cottage sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and is a welcoming Cotswolds retreat with lots of character including flag stone floors (with rugs), log burner, throws and sheepskin rugs.
