About Dunnock House

Dunnock House is in the highly sought after Lower Mill Estate on the Cotswolds Water Park, offering guests luxurious holiday accommodation in a waterfront location. The detached house sleeps up to eight people in four bedrooms, with every room finished to a high standard. The layout is perfect for modern families but also suits groups of friends who want space to unwind and socialise in these serene surroundings.

Lower Mill is a dream holiday destination for anyone who yearns for the peace and beauty of the English countryside. In addition to the decking area which leads directly onto lawns and down to the lake, guests at Dunnock House also have access to the estate's fantastic facilities that include tennis courts, lakes, adventure playgrounds, a spa with treatments, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a sauna, and miles of footpaths and cycling routes. There is also a man-made beach just two minutes away by car. The estate has a 450-acre private nature reserve to provide a delightful oasis of calm in the modern world. There is no traffic around Dunnock House so parents can let their children play and ride their bikes without having to worry about cars.

From summer days spent boating on the lake to woodland walks spotting wildfowl in winter, there are four seasons of fun waiting to be had. Local attractions include Westonbirt Arboretum, the Cotswold Country Park and Beach, and the Corinium Museum and Roman amphitheatre at Cirencester. Guests can hire bicycles, go waterskiing and kayaking, try paintballing and archery, and even enjoy an adrenaline-fuelled track day.

The surrounding towns and villages are a gold mine of quality restaurants ranging from gastropubs to Michelin starred establishments, High Street shops, bijou boutiques, and weekly markets. You can do something different every day of your holiday, or go no further than the waterfront deck with some corn or seeds to keep visiting ducks happy.

Dunnock House is a modern family home with accommodation over three levels.

Downstairs:

  • Guests arrive at the front door via a small footbridge, a practical feature but also a symbolic way that guests can leave their daily lives behind them.
  • An open-plan layout and enormous windows mean that you can see water views from the living room, dining room and the kitchen. Sliding doors open onto the deck and create the ultimate indoor/outdoor living space that is perfect for relaxing and socialising with family and friends.
  • Relaxed seating/dining area with comfortable sofas where guests can put their feet up and drink in the view together with an aperitif. The solid wood dining table seats eight guests.
  • Second living room with two two-seater sofas and a log burner. It's a fantastic space where parents can escape for some peace and quiet.
  • Contemporary kitchen with fitted appliances, plenty of equipment and utensils, and an island workspace/breakfast bar.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.
  • Office area with a desk for those who can't escape work while they're away. The house has Gigaclear Ultrafast Fibre Broadband throughout.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed and a private balcony with water views. The spacious ensuite has a bath, walk-in shower, WC and handbasin.
  • Two of the bedrooms are spacious doubles. Each has an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Fourth bedroom is a twin with two full-sized single beds.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: In addition to the play areas and nature reserve, guests have a waterfront deck with seating and a kettle barbecue which leads onto lawn and then down to the lake. There is allocated parking close to the bridge to the cottage.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. A travel cot (no bedding) and a highchair are available - please let the owner know when booking if these are required. Short breaks are possible outside of school holidays and depending on availability. Smoking, pets and stag/hen parties are not permitted.
