About Serenity

Serenity is a blissful waterfront escape on a tranquil gated estate in Somerford Keynes. The spacious holiday home sleeps eight people in four well-appointed bedrooms. Families and friends enjoy tranquil views and amenities that include a hot tub, shared heated outdoor pool, a private island, and a mini-gym. The cottage is part of The Nines, an exclusive area of the Lower Mill Estate, so-called as only nine properties share these wonderful features. If you yearn for a peaceful escape with beautiful views, wonderful walks and cycling routes, and plenty to keep the kids happy, then Serenity is perfect for you.

The Cotswold Water Park is perfect for a holiday in any season. The 450-acre nature reserve has been sympathetically developed to protect the environment while allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning surroundings located just outside the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition to the miles of waterside footpaths and traffic-free cycling routes, guests of Lower Mill Estate have access to two all-weather tennis courts, two adventure playgrounds, a soft-play area, spa, gym, village shop, restaurant, and an activity hub where you can arrange equipment hire and instruction. Everything you need for a wonderful holiday is ready and waiting. Bring your binoculars to enjoy the diverse varieties of wildfowl, otters, bats, deer and a small colony of European beavers that thrive in the protected landscape.

The wider Cotswold area is easily accessible for days out. Cirencester is a short drive from the cottage. The market town has been a popular hub since Roman times. It has wonderful features, including an amphitheatre, museum and remains of the ancient town walls constructed around the community the Romans called Corinium. Chedworth Roman Villa is also a must for anyone with interest in the past. Cirencester also has a great choice of places to eat, drink and shop.

Days out can include fun and sun at the Cotswold Country Park and Beach, greeting the animals at the Cotswold Farm Park, and exploring picturesque towns and villages like Bourton-on-the-Water, or National Trust properties such as Clevedon Court and Snowshill. Bath and Bristol are both under an hour's drive, each with a fantastic array of sights and attractions. However, with so much to see and do on the Lower Mill Estate, you may choose to stay on-site and make the most of the excellent opportunities for fun from the doorstep.

Serenity is a modern holiday home with accommodation over three levels and a classic design that makes the most of the location next to Somerford Lagoon.

Ground floor:

  • Open plan living/dining area with multi-aspect windows and glass doors that open onto the deck. Hardwood floors, a modern log burner, and a chic natural colour scheme complement the fantastic views and create a calm atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy the views, watch TV, or listen to music on built-in Sonos speakers that feature throughout the property.
  • A gorgeous dining table with upholstered chairs is at the other end of the L-shaped living space, benefitting from the beautiful views and location next to the kitchen.
  • Well-equipped kitchen fitted with efficient appliances that include an integrated wall-oven, dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer and a coffee machine.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

First floor:

  • Second bedroom with a kingsize bed, proper storage, and an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Third double bedroom with a kingsize bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and storage.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds.
  • Family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Second floor

  • Master bedroom suite with a private waterfront balcony, kingsize bed, and proper storage on the second floor. The ensuite has a bath, walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Study with a desk and a chair. The house has Ultrafast fibre broadband which is not only handy for any guests who need to work or take a video call during their stay, it's also ideal for keeping tablet and phone-obsessed teenagers happy.

Outside: Serenity has a wooden deck with hot tub (chargeable extra), sun loungers, a barbecue and seating. Steps lead from the deck to the lawn and reeds beside the lake. There is off-street parking for one car with more available within The Nines and a short walk away.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests to bring towels for swimming and water-sports if they are required. A travel cot (no bedding) and a high chair are available. The house has two sofa beds which can extend accommodation to 12 people - please enquire before booking. The owner regrets they cannot accommodate pets. Smoking is not permitted. Sorry but no hen or stag parties allowed.
