No 5 is an attractive traditional stone holiday cottage ideally located on one of the most quintessential Cotswold streets in the lovely market town of Winchcombe in the heart of North Cotswold's. Formerly providing access to the vineyards belonging to the monks of Winchcombe Abbey, the cottage has been fully renovated to a very high standard.
Inside the cottage, the look and feel is very much of a relaxed country boutique hotel, with the added benefit of your own front door and personal space. It offers a perfect blend of character features with modern conveniences including flagstone floors, original beams and a stylish shower room and fully equipped kitchen. There is also a secure south facing garden for relaxing in the warmer months.
Positioned on the ‘Cotswold Way’ the cottage is ideal for enjoying a romantic break or rural adventures with friends and family in the beautiful local countryside. There are also plenty of other local walking routes to explore including the Gloucestershire Way, Wardens Way, Windrush Way, St. Kenelm’s Way and the new Winchcombe Way. It is also ideal for cycling and the many other activities available in the area.
Winchcombe is a superb base from which to explore the Cotswold’s and this central location means you can park the car and walk to all of the local amenities. These include a wide variety of excellent hostelries; namely some five pubs and two highly rated restaurants, along with shops, a deli, boutiques, galleries and antiques emporiums.
The owners are local and happy to provide helpful hints along with advice and information for your stay on the local area, from walking and cycling routes, places of interest to visit and good local pubs and dining in and around Winchcombe and the surrounding villages.
For those who want to visit the many local attractions and those a little further afield, you are spoilt for choice with: Sudeley Castle (the cottage is just two hundred metres from the gatehouse); Belas Knap, Neolithic Barrow (one and a half miles away); Hailes Abbey (three miles); Cheltenham (seven miles); Cheltenham racecourse (five miles); Tewkesbury Abbey (eleven miles); Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway (one mile); Prescott Hill Climb (four miles); Adam Henson’s, Cotswold Farm Park (eight miles); Stratford Upon Avon (twenty five miles) and Warwick Castle (thirty five miles).
Just been refurbished - internal photos coming soon.
