The cottage is also within easy reach of the popular beauty spot, Selsley Common which offers lovely walks, an abundance of flora and fauna and beautiful views over the Cotswolds countryside.
Sawmills Cottage has easy access to the M4/M5 and the mainline railway into London. Centrally located it is an ideal base for visiting the many attractions throughout the region including: the Roman City of Bath, one of Britain's most ancient and spectacular cities; The Regency Spa town of Cheltenham, a prominent venue for art/literature/music festivals with great shops; Gloucester with its historic cathedral featured in the films of J K Rowling's first Harry Potter books; Oxford, home to one of the most prestigious universities in the world; Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon; Bristol city; the pretty Cotswolds town of Tetbury and Cirencester to name just a few. You can also drive to the Forest of Dean with excellent outdoor activities and further into South Wales.
There are a wealth of cultural activities and places to visit including the National Westonbirt Arboretum and Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. There are also diverse shopping opportunities, from specialist boutiques and designer outlet to world class antiques; as well as pretty villages and historic towns to visit, providing a great selection of places to eat. This wonderful area has something for everyone.

Access by Public Transport: Sawmills Cottage is less than two miles from Stroud railway station, which is on the mainline into London Paddington (one and a half hour journey time). Local buses run from Stroud to within a two minute walk of Sawmills Cottage. The owner's can recommend a local taxi company if required.
