Coopers Cottage - Bisley, Stroud, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds, England - Sleeps 2
Coopers Cottage (GL6 7AG) sleeps two guests and is a delightful period beamed cottage that is immaculately presented and ideal for couples wanting to explore the Cotswolds. Nestling in the Gloucestershire village of Bisley at the head of the Toadsmoor Valley, the cottage sits in a beautiful garden setting where the owners and their dogs reside in a Conservation Area and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tucked away in a peaceful back lane, Coopers Cottage has a separate grassed area including garden furniture where guests can relax and enjoy the lovely view over the old village. By invitation, guests can view the adjacent beautiful garden which is open annually under the National Gardens Scheme.
The pretty village of Bisley is just a five minutes walk from the cottage where you will fiind a shop and two pubs both of which serve food and offer free Wi-Fi. A little further away but still only four miles is the market town of Stroud (with a mainline station connecting to London Paddington in 1 hr 20 mins) which offers a fantastic farmers' market each Saturday, along with the usual shops and supermarkets. Other nearby towns worth visiting are Nailsworth, Painswick and Minchinhampton, along with Regency Cheltenham, Oxford, Tetbury, Cirencester and the Roman City of Bath. Badminton and Gatcombe horse trials are nearby and Gloucester Cathedral and Docks are also well worth a visit.
For walkers, there are plenty of lovely walks to be enjoyed directly from the front door through the surrounding valleys and countryside with a network of footpaths and tracks allowing you to explore the area by foot. Bisley also sits close to the trail of The Cotswolds Way and is accessible to Laurie Lee's Slad Valley (why not drink at his pub The Woolpack when you visit!).
Whether you are looking for a relaxing retreat or want to explore the many attractions of the Cotswolds, Coopers Cottage provides an ideal retreat at any time of the year.
