Sitting in the heart of the fishing port and seaside town of Newlyn, Cove Cottage has its roots firmly in the local maritime heritage, formerly being a pilchard store many years ago! Today this cosy two hundred year old cottage sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and enjoys a coastal position in the far West of Cornwall.
Offering everything needed for self-catering, this home from home retreat is ideal for families, friends and couples and is available during the summer months (May to September only).
Newlyn is a bustling fishing village with a lively harbour and expansive ocean beyond. It still today has one of the country's largest fishing fleets with over forty trawlers and boats that make for good watching as they return to the harbour at the end of the day with their catch. The town offers an excellent choice of traditional pubs serving a Cornish pint, restaurants (what better place to eat freshly caught seafood!) and shops, as well as a fantastic fish market for those who want to cook a fish supper back at the cottage. Penzance is also only one mile away offering more shops, supermarkets, cafes and galleries
Lovely walks start from the cottage front door. Stroll along the promenade to Penzance (approximately a mile) or continue along the beach to Marazion and iconic St. Michael's Mount. In the other direction there is a lovely circular walk along the South West Coastal Path from Mousehole to Lamorna Cove and the opportunity to stop off for a Cornish cream tea for refreshment.
For those who want to travel further afield, Land's End is just twenty minutes away by car, as is the lovely seaside town of St Ives which attracts artists, photographers and holidaymakers alike. Slightly further away you have Mevagissey, Fowey with its beautiful estuary walks and Padstow with its superb restaurants, as well as the world famous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan.
