Little Birds Cottage is a beautiful place to take your special someone for a romantic weekend away. The gorgeous stone cottage, which can also accommodate a third guest in a second bedroom, is in the Yorkshire village of Langcliffe and within walking distance of the Black Horse pub.
Langcliffe is in a fantastic location for exploring not only the Yorkshire Dales National Park but also the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Lake District National Park. If you love walking or cycling through spectacular scenery, then you will love this incredible area which is full of natural beauty and picturesque additions left by humankind in the form of lime kilns, viaducts and other lovely architecture. One of the great aspects of Langcliffe is that it is quiet and peaceful, yet only a mile from the historic market town of Settle where you will find a good range of shops, tea rooms, pubs and other amenities.
Fell walking, road cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golf and fishing are only a few of the ways you can immerse yourself into this stunning setting. Long distances walkers will relish the challenge of climbing the three peaks of Ingleborough, Penyghent and Whernside, while a less strenuous five-minute walk takes visitors from the cottage to a Victorian lime kiln, built in 1873 and a fascinating look into a forgotten industry. The Norber Erratics are unusual stone formations accessible from Craven and Austwick, or take the bridleway from near the cottage to Malham Cove.
There is plenty to see and do around Settle and the Ribble Valley. The Settle to Carlisle Railway is a favourite local attraction and a wonderful way to see the countryside, and visitors have a choice of pretty towns and villages to discover. Marvel at the scale of Castleberg Rock or make the most of a rainy day with a visit to Ingleborough showcave or Scaleber Force waterfall.
The owners of Little Birds Cottage have created a comfortable holiday cottage where you can relax in front of the open fire with a glass of wine after a day spent roaming the beautiful countryside and its picturesque towns and villages.
