About Mulberry Cottage

Mulberry Cottage is a charming Victorian cottage in the beautiful village of Haworth, within a short drive from the stunning landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The carefully restored two-bedroom terrace comfortably sleeps four people, making it ideal for couples, families and friends who want to be within four minute walking distance of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs but still enjoy space and privacy to relax in peace.

Haworth is best known for its links to the Brontë family. Fans of the celebrated authors visit from around the world to walk the same cobbled streets as the Brontës. Experience the "wuthering" of the moors that inspired Emily, see the church where their father preached and the parsonage where they lived, and even drink in The Black Bull where Branwell Brontë enjoyed his ale. Visit the historic Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, used in the classic film The Railway Children. The village has a good choice of shops and eateries and is a conveniently central base from which to explore the wider area.

Yorkshire's landscape is stunning and memorable. Enjoy many walks right from the door of the cottage, cycle along country lanes, fish, sail or play a round of golf. Being close to the Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales National Park opens up even more miles of footpaths and mountain bike trails, offering suitable routes for all abilities.

An excellent base to discover Yorkshire's rich, varied heritage and many attractions. Visit RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate and take in the beautiful gardens, then explore Harrogate spa town and enjoy afternoon tea at the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms. The National Trust’s Brimham Rocks and Hardcastle Crags are only a short drive away. For the kids, visit Eureka National Children's Museum in Halifax, The National Science and Media Museum or Hesketh Farm Park. There’s so much to see and do in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Nearby towns include Skipton, Ilkley, Saltaire and Hebden Bridge, as well as Leeds, Harrogate and Bradford. Haworth village has an exciting calendar of events throughout the year including 1940’s and 1960’s weekends, Steampunk and a Dickensian Christmas. Mulberry Cottage is a welcoming home-away-from-home with thoughtful touches that make it the perfect year-round holiday destination.

A recent addition to the lounge is a rare antique grandfather clock made by John Barraclough of Haworth, clockmaker to the Brontë’s.

Kitchen / Diner:

With an elevated view over the garden, the kitchen is in a traditional cottage shaker style. It is well-equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, retro fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster and all the cooking equipment needed for your stay. It has a fully restored Yorkshire Stone flagged floor and a large dining table with seating for four. There is a radio and USB charging point for your phones and devices.

Rear Bedroom:

With a view over the garden and to the hills. A beautiful king-size sleigh bed and cast iron decorative fireplace make this a luxurious room with an elegant Victorian feel. Original features are prominent in this room with an exposed stone wall and lintel. The room also has lots of storage with a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers.

Front Bedroom:

A bright room with a sumptuous super king bed which is a zip-n-link and can be split into two singles, if requested. The room also has plenty of storage with a large wardrobe with drawers underneath.

The bathroom gives an opulent feel with a Victorian-style roll-top bath, vintage-style fittings and a separate shower. The original exposed stone wall and stone lintel give character to the room. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a day exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Garden:

The private cottage garden is accessed by steep stone steps with a handrail. With a living willow fence, it is a lovely enclosed space with a view of the hills at the side. Rattan furniture with seating for four and a rotary dryer, which folds away discretely. A wonderful area to have a cup of tea or a glass of wine and listen to the birds sing and the distant steam trains in the valley.

Sun Street has no parking restrictions on it and guests can usually park right outside the front door.

We keep our cottage ‘pet free’ for guests with allergies.
