About Crowborough Farm

Crowborough Farm brings people together without a hint of squeeze. Sleeping up to 14 guests in seven bedrooms, this welcoming farmhouse sits within 50 acres of private organic farmland on the edge of Georgeham, where quiet country lanes lead towards some of North Devon's best beaches. The house has grown around family life rather than holiday trends, and it shows. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room quickly becomes the centre of the day, whether that's lazy breakfasts before heading to the coast, long lunches after a morning surfing or evenings spent around the double-sided wood burner long after dinner has finished. When things become a little livelier, there's another sitting room waiting on the opposite side of the fire, complete with a well-stocked library and comfortable sofas. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement too, so there's no need to leave anyone behind.

Step outside and the farm becomes part of the holiday. Children disappear towards the hidden quarry with its treehouse and woodland stage, while adults wander through flower meadows or follow the footpaths climbing towards panoramic views across the coast to Lundy Island. Roe deer occasionally appear at the edge of the fields, birds of prey circle overhead and, despite feeling wonderfully rural, you're never far from the village. The Kings Arms and The Rock Inn are both around half a mile away, making them an easy walk for an evening meal or a relaxed pint, while the village shop is close by for fresh bread and everyday essentials. When the sea calls, Croyde, Putsborough, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are all only a few minutes away, with the practical bonus of two ground-floor showers waiting back at the farmhouse for sandy feet, salty dogs and dripping wetsuits.

There's every reason to stay close to home, but North Devon has plenty to tempt you further afield. Walk sections of the South West Coast Path, cycle the Tarka Trail, spend the afternoon on the beach or explore picturesque villages dotted along the coastline. Crowborough Farm is also licensed for weddings and celebrations, giving couples the opportunity to create a relaxed country wedding with family and friends all staying together. During the summer months, wild camping opens across the surrounding meadows, allowing celebrations to continue beneath wide Devon skies before another peaceful morning begins on the farm. Some places are remembered because of where they are. Crowborough Farm is remembered because of how time is spent there.

Location (Devon)

Accommodation Comprises: Crowborough Farm has been thoughtfully arranged for larger groups, balancing generous social spaces with quiet corners and practical touches that make holidays by the coast feel wonderfully relaxed.

Ground Floor

  • Kitchen, Dining and Sitting Room – A large open-plan space designed to bring everyone together. The well-equipped kitchen provides plenty of room for preparing family meals, while the generous dining table encourages long breakfasts, celebratory dinners and evenings that stretch well beyond dessert. Comfortable sofas gather around one side of the impressive double-sided wood burner, creating a welcoming place to unwind after a day outdoors.
  • Second Sitting Room – Separated by the double-sided fireplace, this cosy room offers a quieter atmosphere with comfortable seating and a well-stocked library. It's somewhere to escape with a book, enjoy a board game or simply put your feet up while the rest of the group continue chatting next door.
  • Ground Floor Double Bedroom – A spacious double bedroom offering convenient accommodation for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
  • Utility and Shower Room – A particularly useful addition after days spent surfing or walking the coast, with two showers for rinsing away sand and salt before heading into the main house. Laundry facilities and plenty of space for drying beach gear make life that little bit easier during longer stays.

First Floor

  • Family Bedroom – A beautifully proportioned room featuring a four-poster double bed alongside two single beds, making it an excellent choice for families. The en suite includes a freestanding bath that's perfect for a long soak at the end of an active day.
  • Four Double Bedrooms – Individually furnished bedrooms offering comfortable accommodation for couples, each enjoying peaceful views across the surrounding countryside.
  • Two Twin Bedrooms – Flexible rooms suited to children, teenagers or friends sharing.
  • Bathrooms – Three family bathrooms serve the first floor, all supplied with solar-heated hot water.

Outside
Explore 50 acres of private organic farmland, where flower meadows, green lanes and peaceful walking routes invite guests to spend as much time outdoors as indoors. Hidden among the trees, the magical quarry has become a favourite with younger visitors thanks to its treehouse and woodland stage, while adults often make the climb for the far-reaching views across the coastline towards Lundy Island. The gardens provide plenty of space for outdoor dining, relaxing with a morning coffee or watching the evening light settle across the valley. Surfboard storage and wetsuit drying facilities are available, making the farmhouse especially well suited to beach holidays.

There is parking for 5 cars.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Dogs are welcome by arrangement - please enquire when booking. Crowborough Farm is licensed for weddings, celebrations and private events.
