Sunnycliffe House enjoys spectacular ocean views, making it the envy of cottage owners and holidaymakers alike. Imagine eating breakfast on the terrace on a sunny day and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore as you anticipate the adventures that await. The three-bedroom holiday house comfortably sleeps six people, making Sunnycliffe ideal for families who love being at the seaside. Within a few minutes, you can be crunching along the golden sand at Combesgate Beach or Barricane Beach, the latter of which has a cafe that serves delicious Sri-Lankan curry every night which you can enjoy on a blanket on the beach as the sun sets ... bliss!
As if it wasn’t good enough to have two beaches virtually on your doorstep, award-winning Woolacombe Bay is only a 20-minute walk from Sunnycliffe. This vast, three-mile expanse of sand is one of the most famous on the south-west coast, offering a vast array of activities ranging from rock pooling and sandcastle building to surfing and swimming. You can also walk to Mortehoe Beach, where the three flights of steps to the sand are almost an adventure in themselves.
Woolacombe has been recognised with the England for Excellence Gold Award for the best family resort, and it is very well equipped to cater for visitors. In addition to excellent pubs and cafes, it has a cinema, pottery painting studio and ten-pin bowling. Nearby attractions include Ilfracombe Aquarium, Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle and Saunton Sands Golf Course. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach are the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Museum and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.
The South West Coast Path offers a challenge for serious long-distance walkers, or gentle cliff top walks for more relaxed ramblers. The Tarka Trail is suitable for walkers and cyclists. You can join it in nearby Braunton and, because it is relatively flat and virtually traffic-free, it is a favourite with families as your children can cycle safely.
The North Devon Heritage Coast is a beautiful part of Britain, and there is nowhere nicer to appreciate it than at Sunnycliffe House.
