Coachman's Quarters is a quiet holiday home in Lynton, ideal for walkers exploring North Devon. It has one bedroom and is popular with couples, including those with dogs, who love the views over Lynmouth and the Bristol Channel from the private terrace. The characterful property is part of the Lynton Cottage Seaview Apartments and includes accommodation over three levels, with narrow internal staircases that make the property unsuitable for children and infants. Shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs, and the famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway are all within a short walk from the door, making this a practical as well as a charming choice of holiday accommodation.
Lynton is one half of North Devon's most dynamic duo. Sitting high on a cliff above Lynmouth, it is part of the beautiful Exmoor National Park and famous not only for its funicular railway, which has been conveying passengers up and down the cliff since 1890 but also for its proximity to the Valley of Rocks, whose craggy cliffs are popular with climbers as well as a herd of wild goats. Lynton also has a tiny 68-person cinema, a toy museum, and winding lanes lined with independent shops and places to eat and drink. Lynmouth is older than Lynton, with a pretty harbour on the River Lyn where it empties into the Bristol Channel.
Many of the guests who stay at Coachman's Quarters choose it for the plentiful walking opportunities. The South West Coast Path, Coleridge Way, Tarka Trail, and Two Moors Way all meet at a central point marked by a metal sculpture on the waterfront at Lynmouth next to the Rhenish Tower. Favourite local walks include routes from Lynmouth Lighthouse to Barna Barrow, Holdstone Down, Heddon's Mouth, Watersmeet, Hollerday Hill, and beside the River Lyn over the Woodside Bridge. Bring or hire your bike and enjoy National Cycle Routes that include a 25-mile loop around Simonsbath, Challacombe and Blackmoor Gate, or a more gentle 10-mile route through the Valley of Rocks, around Lee Bay and through Woody Bay to Martinhoe. With the Exmoor National Park all around, you're never short of choice.
Coachman's Quarters is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. Whether you're escaping for a romantic break by the coast or you are an individual who wants to be inspired by the gorgeous views and fantastic location, you will feel relaxed and welcome here.
