Sunnyside Cottage is a gorgeous period property on Dent's cobbled High Street, just a minute or two from cafes, shops and the historic Sun Inn pub. The two-bedroom cottage has been beautifully restored and sleeps three people, making it ideal for couples, small families or solo travellers who want to enjoy the sights and attractions of the Yorkshire Dales National Park without having to travel far to reach them.
Dent is a pretty village with picturesque cobbled streets, a Norman Church and a well-curated local museum. Its elevated position means the houses, including Sunnyside Cottage, have wonderful countryside views, and its train station is the highest in England. A journey on the historic Settle to Carlisle Railway, which stops at Dent station a few miles outside of the village, is a memorable way to see the countryside en route to Leeds or Carlisle for a day's shopping and sightseeing. Visitors who prefer to explore on foot can make good use of the Dales Way long-distance footpath, while anglers can cast their line into the River Dee and cyclists can relish the reward of hill climbs with sweeping downhill trails.
Not only is Dent close to some of the most wonderful sights in the Yorkshire Dales National Park but it is also within easy reach of the Lake District National Park and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you are visiting to experience the Great Outdoors then you will certainly get it here! Once you have had your fill of walking, cycling, golf, bird watching or horse riding, make your way to one of the area's friendly towns such as Sedburgh or Penrith where there is a wealth of places to eat, drink and shop.
The landscape of the Yorkshire Dales is magnificent in any weather, and your favourite view will change every day. The owners of Sunnyside Cottage have created a comfortable space where you can rest at the end of a busy day and wake each morning feeling refreshed and revived.
