Rural Retreat sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms and affords a private position within the owners' grounds. An ideal retreat for walkers, friends who want to get together and those who want to explore this tranquil part of Shropshire, this luxurious caravan sits in a haven for wildlife and affords spectacular views over the surrounding rolling countryside.
Nestling in the Tanat Valley on the Shropshire/Powys border, Rural Retreat is conveniently located close to the many attractions of the area which include: Powis Castle; Lake Vyrnwy, Bala and Llanraeadr Waterfall. Snowdonia National Park is also within an hours drive with its impressive mountain ranges, ideal for outdoor activities including white water rafting and kayaking.
Berwyn mountains are great for sailing and tennis, along with more sedate activities including golf and fishing. Walkers can enjoy lovely walks straight from the front door (maps provided) and there are great cycle rides for those who want to bring their bikes. As a renowned mountain biking area, there are no shortage of challenging routes for the more adventurous cyclist!
If culture is more your thing, there are plenty of National Trust properties nearby including Powis Castle, Erddig, Chirk, Ellesmere and Whittington Castle; along with many local attractions to keep the little ones amused such as: Blue Planet Aquarium; Park Hall Farm; Coed-y-dinas and Crazy Knights. There are also cinemas and local swimming pools in Wrexham and Welshpool with slides and wave machines that the kids will love.
The nearby market town of Oswestry offers a good choice of eating establishments, speciality shops and market stalls where you can pick up local produce. There are also many very good restaurants and pubs within easy reach of the caravan.
Bring your horse along on holiday! The owners have paddocks, stabling and a menage for training with jumps which guests are able to use and there are also local indoor equestrian centres nearby and cross country rides for those who like the challenge. For a more relaxing hack, try the Dyfnant forest which has fabulous routes to explore amongst truly beautiful surroundings. Pls contact the owner for prices for livery.

Rural Retreat is luxurious by caravan standards and more of a holiday lodge offering everything needed for a relaxing holiday with your partner, friends or family. It enjoys fabulous views over the fields and countryside and is also great as an 'overflow pad' when rented alongside The Coach House (see separate advert) for larger group bookings.

Additional information: Non-smokers only. There are shops within four miles for stocking up on provisions and a pub and restaurant a mile away. Dogs possibly accepted upon discussion with the owner at an additional charge. Duvets, along with all linen and towels are supplied and included in the price. A cot/high chair are provided. Electricity (including heating) is included in the price. If you would like to bring your horse, please contact the owner for prices. Prices shown are based on 6 people and an under-occupancy discount can be applied.
