Oakpond Cottage can be found on the Cheshire/Shropshire border. This lovely Gold award winning cottage provides a relaxing retreat and affords the luxury of an indoor hot tub which has views over our fields which is available to hire and is private and not shared.
Please note that our other beautiful cottage Oaktree which sleeps 2 is situated next door to Oakpond can be booked for additional family members who require their own space but otherwise we only book out one cottage at a time. (we do offer a reduced rate for the smaller cottage if booked by the same family)

This home from home country cottage sits in a tranquil spot surrounded by lovely countryside and overlooks a wonderful wildlife pond which has an abundance of birds and dragonflies and so perfect for guests who love nature with only the odd hooting of our resident owls.
The Cheshire village of Audlem is only ten minutes away where you will find circular canal side staircase walks, tea rooms, shops and a boating marina with a lovely tearoom. There is a nature reserve within a five minute drive offering woodland walks including the Chef In The Wood with his very tasty cakes and pies along with three pubs serving good food with one being voted the best country pub in the country. The area also offers numerous National Trust properties gardens and castles to visit. Oakpond is only 4 miles away from the old bustling market town of Whitchurch which has a number of shops including Tesco and Sainsburys, with which they will deliver to the cottage.
The cottage is central for Cheshire which is home to Nantwich, Jodrell Bank, Anderton Boat Lift, Chester Zoo and Cheshire Oaks Retail Park whilst Shropshire is famous for the Ironbridge Gorge, RAF Cosford, David Austin Rose Gardens and The British Ironworks plus Shropshire has been voted one of the top ten destinations to visit. Just over the border is Staffordshire with its very interesting Wedgewood and JCB museums and the Dorothy Clive Gardens.
Not far from the cottage there is a 200 acre walks on an estate which has no livestock as well as the Nature Reserve Brown Moss and the Beeston and Peckforton Hills. Other walks which this lovely area has to offer are lovely strolls on the Sandstone Trail and the Grindley Brook Staircase locks and not forgetting the Hawkestone Follies with its grotto. For the swimmers, we have Alderford Lake which offers wild swimming, aqua play park and paddle boarding or just go and have refreshments in their tearoom with a view. Dagfields Craft and Antique Centre is perfect to visit on a rainy day and you will pick up a bargain or for anyone that is into the war theme, then the Secret Bunker is a must for the enthusiast. Bridgemere Garden World is a must for garden lovers with its outlet stores and beautiful gardens as well as Oakgate Gardens, Hodnet Hall and Wollerton Gardens which are all within 25 minutes. There are two golf courses with one being a championship course close by for the keen golfers and for any guests that love to cycle, we have a main cycle route which passes our lane with beautiful scenic rides down leafy country lanes and into quant villages including Audlem. Shrewsbury is another lovely place to visit as well as Chester for its unusual buildings and high street shops and boat rides.
Awarded Four Star Gold for quality luxury accommodation, this beautiful home from home cottage is suited for people who want to escape to the country for some peace and quiet amongst the surrounding wildlife. Oakpond Cottage is presented to a high standard and has two wonderful private gardens and patio with garden furniture.
Frogs Retreat Spa Room is the perfect place to spoil yourself at the end of the day with an energising massage in the wonderful hydrotherapy spa/hot tub - just sit back and admire the beautiful views over the Shropshire countryside while you bubble your aches away! (there is a supplement charge for using this facility)

Oakpond Cottage sits in an idylic waterside location with an abundance of bird song and wildlife. This award winning cottage is suitable for couples and smaller families but can be booked with Oaktree Cottage for additional family members.

Additional information: Prices include: central heating, electricity, linen, Egyptian fluffy towels, Wi-Fi, a welcome tray with home-made cake upon arrival and complimentary toiletries and beverages. One very well behaved dog welcome £20 per stay.
The hot tub must be booked when booking the cottage.

Please contact us for the third bedroom and pricing which is available by special arrangement. Dogs are charged at £20 pw ( no dogs under the age of 15 months) This cottage is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years due to the water. The hot tub has an additional charge and is not shared.
