Briarhill Farm is home to two Gold Award winning cottages which are situated in North Shropshire. There are dark skies with wonderful stars and the odd hooting from our resident owls.
Oaktree Cottage is joined to our family cottage Oakpond but we only book out one side at a time and this ensures peace and tranquility which these cottages have to offer. ( Both cottages can be booked together but only by the same family)
Oaktree is a very spacious country cottage that sits on a wonderful waterside setting in a tranquil spot surrounded by countryside by 130 acres of Shropshire countryside. Sleeping two guests, this spacious retreat is perfect for couples and has a king-size bedroom leading out to a large balcony which overlooks the wildlife pond and beautiful gardens and so a perfect place for enjoying morning coffee or tea. The lounge with comfy reclining seating also lets the outside in, with French doors opening out onto the gardens. Oaktree is the perfect location for people who require privacy in a tranquil location. From the cottage door is a lovely peaceful walk down our private lane and you may be lucky to spot our wonderful barn owl on route as well as the many birds which have made their home at the cottage.
The Cheshire village of Audlem is only ten minutes away where you will find circular canal side walks, tea rooms, shops and a boating marina. There is a nature reserve within a five minute drive offering woodland walks, along with four good pubs with log fires serving food with one being voted the best country pub in the country. Whitchurch is 4 miles away and this has an abundance of tearooms and even two mitchelin restaurants as well as a Sainsburys and Tesco supermarkets. The area also offers numerous National Trust properties gardens and castles to visit whilst Chester and Shrewsbury are only 25 minutes away. The Welsh Border is 4 miles away with days out at Llangollen and Ellesmere plus Betsy Coed with its zip world.
We have some lovely gardens close by such as Wollerton Gardens, Hodnet Hall Gardens, Bridgemere Garden World and Dorothy Clive Gardens.
Awarded 4 Star Gold for quality accommodation and excellent customer service, the cottage is well suited for people who want to escape to the country for some peace and quiet amongst the surrounding wildlife. Oaktree Cottage is presented to a high standard and has wonderful private gardens and a patio with garden furniture for sitting out and soaking up the peace and tranquillity.
The wildlife pond adds to the relaxed environment and attracts lots of wildlife including ducks, dragonflies, moorhens, squirrels, woodpeckers and owls. If you are really lucky you may even see bats flying around!
Frogs Retreat Spa Room is the perfect place to spoil yourself at the end of the day with an energising massage in the wonderful hydrotherapy spa/hot tub - just sit back and admire the beautiful views over the Shropshire countryside while you bubble your aches away. (supplement charge for using this facility) The hot tub can be booked with this cottage and is private and not shared.

Outside: The garden is located to the side and front of the cottage which roses climb the wall in the warmer months, providing a lovely scent from the kitchen and snug windows. The garden leads to the pond which is home to an abundance of birds and wildlife.
There is safe and secure parking outside the cottage
Additional information: Prices include central heating, electricity, linen, Egyptian fluffy towels, Wi-Fi, a welcome tray with home-made cake upon arrival and complimentary toiletries and beverages.
