Curlew Lodge offers a tranquil escape, deep in the heart of the Shropshire countryside where guests can unwind and relax, surrounded by beautiful views and amenities that include an outdoor hot tub. The cottage sleeps four people in two spacious bedrooms with a flexible layout that suits couples, families or friends. It is one of two luxury lodges on a family-run farm on the western border of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The nearest pub, the Miner's Arms, is only a mile away.
The Shropshire Hills are wonderfully rural with a network of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes that lay across the landscape like lace, linking beauty spots and panoramic views that are unique to this region. The lodge is just outside of Priest Weston, and close to favourite attractions that include Powis Castle, the House on Crutches Museum, Stokesay Castle, and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. Days out can feature browsing Ludlow's fantastic independent shops and thriving market, strolling along the riverfront and admiring the ancient abbey in Shrewsbury, or enjoying one of the regular festivals and events that take place throughout the year.
As good as the local attractions are, the landscape is the star of the show, and there are lots of ways to explore when you stay at Curlew Lodge. The Shropshire Hills offer some of the best horse riding in England and there are plenty of places to go horse riding locally. Mountain biking is fun all year round, especially around Church Stretton where there is a popular mountain bike centre. Walking is a perennial favourite pastime, and even a stroll around the 200-acre farm is a visual delight. Venture further afield and footpaths lead to places such as Long Mynd and Mitchell's Fold.
The owner's website has more information about their amenities. Depending on availability, it may be possible to book the two lodges together to accommodate extended families and friends.
