Plasauduon is a delightful Georgian and part Victorian holiday home accommodating six guests in three bedrooms. It is ideally placed in the market town of Bishop's Castle which sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the South West Shropshire Hills.
Overlooking the picturesque town, Plasauduon is well located away from any town noise yet within a short stroll of all the amenities you would expect from a thriving rural town, including a weekly market, shops, restaurants, a good selection of dog friendly pubs and a brewery. The town is also well known for its fairs and festivals including the Michaelmas Fair.
Renovated, Plasauduon offers two modern bathrooms one with a bath lovely for soaking in after a long walk or cycle, beams and a big inglenook fireplace housing a log burner (as well as full central heating), making it an ideal holiday retreat all year round. The bedrooms afford views over the hills and there is a garden at the back of the property which is sunny and private where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine or barbeque while watching the kites fly over and taking in the views.
Glorious countryside surrounds, providing great opportunities for walkers, birdwatchers and cyclists. Offa's Dyke is close by and there are plenty of lovely walks directly from the cottage including the Shropshire Way which runs right past the door. The towns of Ludlow and Shrewsbury are nearby and for historians; Powys Castle and the Severn Valley Railway are both wonderful places to visit. Explore Kerry Forests and the Clun along with the beautiful South Shropshire Hills and attractions including Stokesay Castle, Acton Scott Victorian Farm museum and the Ironbridge Gorge museums - all within easy reach.
Bishop's Castle is an ideal retreat for a relaxing holiday where you can park the car, make the most of excellent local amenities and explore the area by foot, bike or bus. It is also well located for exploring rural Shropshire, North Herefordshire and the Welsh Marches.
