About Bank House

Bank House is in the Shropshire town of Bishop's Castle. The stylish Georgian townhouse is the ideal holiday rental where you, your family and your friends can stay in comfort. Five well-appointed bedrooms sleep up to 14 guests, and the house is within a short walk of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs like the 15th Century Three Tuns, which has the oldest licensed brewery in England. Bank House is perfect as a base from which to explore the Shropshire Hills and is also ideal if you need accommodation for your wedding party or want to host a special celebration for a milestone birthday or significant event.

Bishop's Castle is overflowing with a character that appeals in all seasons. Browse independent shops, check out the museum exhibits at the Town Hall and the House on Crutches, and build up a thirst following the 40 Lost Pubs of Bishop's Castle self-guided trail. There are monthly farmers and antique/collectable markets and a full calendar of fun celebrating food, music and the landscape, culminating in the annual Michaelmas Fair. The Shropshire Way long-distance footpath passes through Bishop's Castle, with the route to Clun also including Offa's Dyke Footpath. Other popular trails include Long Mynd, Stiperstones, Bury Ditches, and Mitchell's Fold, but with more than 50 hills and miles of gentle valley paths, you can plan the perfect walk or cycle for your ability and energy level.

You don't have to be wearing hiking boots to enjoy a holiday in Shropshire. Day trips can include visiting the Ironbridge UNESCO World Heritage Site, shopping or lunching in Ludlow or Shrewsbury, learning a new skill on a workshop at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, taking a ride on a steam train, or visiting historic sites like Powis Castle and Gardens or Stokesay Castle.

Bank House is available on either a B&B or a fully self-catering basis, with short breaks possible depending on availability.
