Willow Barn is impressive without feeling imposing. The 17th-Century building has been carefully restored and brought into the 21st Century to provide very comfortable holiday accommodation for up to 12 people in five bedrooms. There is loads of space indoors and outside, so it is ideal for extended families or groups of friends. The location is also fantastic as it is a mile and a half from the popular White Horse Inn and village shop in Neatishead.
Neatishead is a great choice for a self-catering holiday in Norfolk. Close to the village is the beautiful Alderfen Broad, a Site of Special Scientific Interest that is managed carefully by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. There is a 1.5-mile circular footpath around the water with spots to stop and view the birds and wildlife. In contrast to the sedate pace of the Broads is the medieval city of Norwich, only 11 miles from the cottage with bars, restaurants, shopping and sightseeing.
Norfolk is relatively flat and ideal for exploring on foot or bicycle if you prefer not to use the car. The pretty village of Horning is less than three miles from Willow Barn, where the riverside pubs are a favourite spot to sit and watch the boats on a sunny day. Alternatively, head to Wroxham, four miles away, where there are plenty of places to eat, drink and shop.
The Broads are a delight in every season, and it is worth either hiring a boat or booking a trip on a sightseeing cruise so that you can enjoy them from the water as well as on land. Hire a boat from Wrayford and sail to places like Barton Broad, Dilham, the How Hill Nature Reserve, or Wroxham. It's an incredibly relaxing way to spend a few hours.
The amenities at Willow Barn are so good that some visitors are happy to laze around in the garden or the hot tub. If you need more space, then enquire with the owner about booking adjacent Beech Barn to provide accommodation for up to 18 people in eight bedrooms. There is more information on the owner's website.

Outside: The barn has lots of outdoor space including a level area of lawn, a patio with garden furniture and a hot tub, as well as off-street parking for four cars.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. A travel cot (no bedding) is available on request. One well-behaved dog is welcome through prior arrangement. Short breaks are available all year round. Smoking is not permitted. Outside caterer can be arranged via the owner.
