The former barn has been carefully converted into one of eight luxury Norfolk holiday cottages on a family-run farm where guests can immerse themselves in the beauty of the countryside that makes the Waveney Valley a favourite holiday destination for couples, families and friends. Wheatacre Hall Barns provide a fantastic array of facilities for guests, including a games barn, soft play area, gym, outdoor hot tub, spacious grass area for playing, and river frontage from the surrounding farmland for coarse fishing. Depending on availability, cottages can be booked together to accommodate groups of extended family and friends, providing a very comfortable base for your holiday.
Wheatacre Hall Barns are in south Norfolk, not far from the border of Suffolk and just a short drive from the breathtaking Norfolk Broads National Park. Not only do guests have direct access to the river from the farm, but it is possible to hire a boat and spend lazy days exploring the waterways that flow through the landscape in liquid ribbons that are a haven for waterfowl and other wildlife. If you prefer to explore on dry land, then there are miles of footpaths and cycling routes that make it simple to explore, and the owner of Snipe can arrange free bike hire for guests if required.
You certainly won't struggle to plan days full of activities to keep everyone happy. Start in Beccles, about five miles away, where there is a good variety of places to eat, drink and shop, as well as a local museum. Walk to the top of the bell tower (open from March to September) or shop at the twice-monthly farmers' market. The outdoor swimming pool is a popular spot to let the kids play and cool off in the summer, and you can take the Big Dog Ferry over to Geldeston Locks where there are lovely walks around marshland and countryside, and a friendly country pub if you work up a thirst. Golf and fishing are very popular with Aldeby Hall Fishing Lakes, Fritton Lake Outdoor Centre and Caldecott Hall Golf Club all nearby.
Kids are easy to please at popular Norfolk attractions like BeWILDerwood, Africa Alive, Pleasurewood Hills and Pettits Animal Adventure Park, all of which are within a short drive of Wheatacre Hall Barns. The historic city of Norwich is about a half an hour drive from the cottage, as are beaches at Southwold, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.

Snipe is a semi-detached cottage with accommodation over two levels. The owners have maintained as many original features as possible, using aspects like exposed brick and beams to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Outside: Snipe has a private fenced patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue at the rear, and a terrace at the front of the cottage, with allocated parking close to the door. Guests also have access to all of the shared space and excellent facilities at Wheatacre Hall Barns.
Additional Information: Short breaks are available all year round, depending on availability. A well-behaved dog is welcome with prior agreement from the owner. Smoking is not permitted. All utilities, linen and bath towels are provided.
