Pheasant is an idyllic couple's retreat and simply perfect for a romantic holiday in Norfolk. The cottage has been skill-fully converted from a former barn and is full of luxurious touches that have earned it a coveted 5-Star Gold Award from Visit Britain. It is in the heart of the gorgeous Waveney Valley, within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and beautiful beaches, and within walking distance of the Wheatacre White Lion Pub. Pheasant is one of eight luxury self-catering Norfolk cottages on this family-run dairy and arable farm, giving guests access to fantastic facilities that include an outdoor hot tub, farm walks and cycle rides, a games room and a gym, as well as riverfront fishing from the farmland for coarse fishing.
Wheatacre Hall Barns are a short drive from Beccles, where there is a bi-monthly farmers' market as well as a wealth of places to eat and drink. It doesn't matter if you miss a market day as there are several supermarkets, and if you want to avoid the hassle of doing the grocery shop on your holiday then simply pre-order a delivery to your cottage from Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Tesco or Asda. Beccles has a historic tower and a local museum, but if shopping and history are your thing, then you will undoubtedly want to spend a day exploring the medieval buildings of Norwich which is about half an hour from the cottage, or visiting the nearby Somerleyton Estate.
You don't need fine weather to enjoy a day at the beach. While the traditional entertainments of the resort towns of Great Yarmouth, Southwold and Lowestoft are fantastic on a sunny day, they are also ideal for a blustery coastal walk followed by hot fish and chips. The coast is a 30-minute drive from the cottage but the waterways of The Broads are even closer, and it is easy to hire a boat and self-navigate - a fun holiday experience you will never forget. Anglers not only have access to coarse fishing on the river that flows through the farm but can also try their luck at Aldeby Hall Fishing Lakes and Fritton Lake, both of which are only a few miles from the cottage. Golfers will appreciate the challenge of the courses at Caldecott Hall and Rookery Park, and more adventurous guests will enjoy the opportunity to skydive or go-kart.
Even a simple walk or bike ride around the farm or through the countryside is a pleasure when it is this beautiful, and when you add in the luxurious accommodation at Wheatacre Hall Barns then you have everything you need for the perfect Norfolk holiday.

Outside: The cottage has a private garden with great views. There is a lawn and a paved patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. Allocated parking is close to the door. Guests also have free use of the shared grounds and facilities.
Additional Information: Pheasant is available for week-long stays and short breaks all year round, depending on availability. A well-behaved dog is welcome, but smoking is not allowed. Utilities, including WiFi, sheets and bath towels are included with hire.
