Coot sleeps up to six people in three rooms, making it ideal for big families or groups of friends who appreciate extra space. It is one of eight luxurious holiday cottages at Wheatacre Hall Barns, set on a 1,100-acre farm in the beautiful Waveney Valley in south Norfolk, close to the Norfolk Broads and within walking distance of the Wheatacre White Lion pub.
The barn is part of a working farm where the owners have a herd of dairy cows, free-range hens and crops including wheat and barley. It is an idyllic setting, perfect for guests who want to relax and unwind far from the stress of everyday life. There is plenty of space on the farm to walk and cycle, play football and fly kites, with guests also having direct access to coarse fishing on the river and amenities that include an indoor games barn and gym, and outdoor spa. Birds and wildlife flourish on the farm and in the surrounding countryside, and you will see a wealth of different species depending on the time of day and the season. Activities such as walking, golf, cycling, fishing, sailing and horseriding are all readily accessible.
Discovering East Anglia's pretty towns and villages is an absolute treat. Beccles is around five miles from the cottage, with a popular farmers' market and a fantastic array of local businesses where you can shop, eat and drink. The outdoor lido is a favourite place to cool off in summer, and you can take the Big Dog Ferry from the lido to Geldeston Locks in the summer months. Other nearby attractions include BeWILDerwood, Africa Alive, Aldeby Hall Fishing Lakes and Pleasurewood Hills.
East Anglia's beautiful beaches are as beloved as The Broads, with Southwold, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft all around half an hour from the cottage with a wide array of traditional seaside attractions. The medieval city of Norwich is only 18 miles away, and a day out could also include a visit to the magnificent Somerleyton Hall and Gardens, parachuting or even sea fishing.
It is always a good time to visit East Anglia and the Waveney Valley, and staying at one of the cottages at Wheatacre Hall Barns is a very comfortable way to enjoy every moment.
