The Saplings sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and provides single level self catering on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park. Nestling amongst expansive woodland that spans almost ninety acres, the cottage is new to the rental market and is currently taking bookings from April 2017 onwards (more photos coming soon).
At the end of a terrace, the bungalow sits on the edge of the small semi-rural Cumbrian village of Bothel, close to Bassenthwaite with its beautiful four mile long lake. Just twelve miles from Keswick, seven miles from Cockermouth and ten miles from the glorious Solway Coastline, The Saplings is a good choice for touring the many attractions of the Lakes, the Cumbrian Coast and the Scottish Borders.
Within easy driving distance you have the bustling historic market town of Keswick with an excellent selection of shops, cafes, pubs and attractions including the Keswick Climbing Wall, Theatre by the Lake, The Puzzling Place, Keswick Museum and Keswick Brewery Tours.
Cockermouth (famed for being the birthplace of William Wordsworth) is also within easy driving distance. Ancient and bustling, Cockermouth is a true 'Gem town' offering a good choice of shops, cafes and pubs in an attractive setting, and unlike other busier Lakeland towns, it not deluged with tourists.
Other attractions within the area worth visiting are Honister slate mines; Borrowdale Go Ape; Whinlatter Forest and the vibrant city of Carlisle.
