This bright little hideaway is the perfect escape for anyone looking for somewhere special to stay in the heart of the Lake District. Set in two acres of mature gardens, including a tennis court and putting green, the apartment is located in the upper floor of a former gentleman’s residence and enjoys beautiful westerly views over Lake Windermere.
The two bedroom, two bathroom layout makes it the ideal choice for couples holidaying together, or for small families. Recently refurbished and with large picture windows to make the most of the wonderful view, it is a perfect place to relax and unwind at any time of year.
There are plenty of things to do and see all year round in the Lake District, and the Loft is centrally located for exploring the areas many attractions.
The apartment is situated only a mile from the bustling village of Bowness-on-Windermere, which offers a large selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes, attractive local shops and a cinema, as well as hosting tourist attractions such as the Steamboat Museum and the World of Beatrix Potter.
A short walk from the apartment brings you to the shore of Lake Windermere, the largest and most famous lake in England, renowned for its magnificent scenery.
Lake cruises operate all year round and include a popular islands cruise as well as sailings to the head of the lake at Waterhead (Ambleside), and to the south for the Lakes Aquarium and Fell Foot Park. A car ferry operates across the lake to visit Beatrix Potter’s house at Hill Top, or to walk and cycle on Windermere’s quieter western shore. Rowing boats, kayaks and motor boats are available for hire.
Also a short stroll away is the Storrs Hall hotel, on the shore of the lake, where you can enjoy the lakeside gardens and visit the famous Storrs Temple, recently restored by the National Trust. Above Storrs Park is Blackwell, the award winning Arts and Crafts house with its tea room and panoramic views of Windermere.
Beyond Windermere are the high fells, deep valleys and picturesque lakes and tarns which make the Lake District so popular. Enjoy a drive or walk through quaint villages and stop for lunch in one of the areas numerous country pubs. If all this is too much, simply relax in the apartment and soak up the beautiful views, or watch the sun set over lake Windermere.
