About Park View Farmhouse

Park View Farmhouse is in a private and peaceful location in the Devon village of Kentisbury. The village shops and The Pyne Arms are within easy walking distance, and lovely footpaths lead from the door through nearby woodland and countryside. The farmhouse has been restored to a high standard to comfortably sleep up to eight guests in four bedrooms, with a layout that makes it ideal for big or extended families and friends.

Kentisbury is right on the border of the Exmoor National Park and only a few miles from the beautiful beaches of the North Devon coast. There are miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes to enjoy regardless of your ability and the season. There is something liberating about being surrounded by so much space and beauty, and it's a delight to watch kids see their boundaries expand and their independence grow with the space to go free-range.

North Devon's coastline is breathtaking at any time of the year. The beach at Combe Martin is only four miles from the farmhouse, while Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are also close. These family-friendly beaches are clean and safe, with lifeguards on duty over the summer, places to hire equipment and schools where you can learn to surf, paddleboard or sea-kayak.

The South West Coast Path runs past Combe Martin, and the walk from the beach to Heddon's Mouth is especially lovely. A few miles in the other direction, Wistapoundland Reservoir has an easy and scenic trail around the water for walking and cycling. It's within cycling distance from Park View Farmhouse, but there is a car park (pay and display) if you prefer to drive. The traffic-free Tarka Trail is also within easy reach.

Days out can include shopping in Barnstaple, which is a historic market town on the banks of the River Taw. In addition to its excellent Pannier markets, there is a museum and an excellent choice of independent shops and cafes. Local attractions include specialist museums such as the Cobbatton Combat Collection, stately homes like Arlington Court, activity centres, and family-friendly fun in the form of the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park.

Park View Farmhouse is a spacious family home-from-home that has been modernised and refurbished to a high standard. Accommodation is over two levels and the downstairs and garden are dog-friendly.


  • Relax in the spacious living room where there are deep sofas and armchairs begging for you to flop down and watch a film or catch up with your favourite TV show. Multi-aspect windows ensure it feels light and welcoming all day long, and the owners have provided a choice of books and family-friendly games for guests to enjoy during their stay.
  • Family meals are a treat in the lovely dining area of the kitchen/diner, where there is a solid wood table and decorative fireplace. It's perfect for lazy lunches or more formal meals to celebrate special occasions.
  • All mod-cons are in the kitchen which features shaker-style cupboards with lots of space to store food, equipment and utensils. It is a proper farmhouse kitchen with a Sandyford range cooker as well as an electric stove and oven, a dishwasher, coffee maker, and everything else you need when catering for eight hungry diners.
  • Separate utility room with a washing machine, storage and plenty of space to leave wet boots and coats to dry. A door leads into the back garden and it is ideal for coming in from walks or days at the beach if you want to avoid wet feet/paws in the house.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and handbasin.


  • Master bedroom with original floorboards and a decorative fireplace, a double bed, proper storage and a wall-mounted TV. There is an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Spacious double room with a king-sized bed, two wardrobes, decorative fireplace, stripped pine floorboards and a wall-mounted TV.
  • Bedroom three is another lovely double room with a king-sized bed, proper storage, stylish decor and a TV.
  • Bunk room with full-sized (3ft-wide) single bunks, a wardrobe, desk and garden views.
  • Family bathroom with a large walk-in shower, deep roll-top bath, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The farmhouse has lots of outdoor space that includes a big lawn that is flat and perfect for playing games. There is also a paved patio area with oak garden furniture, a barbecue and an outdoor hot tub where you can soak in bliss under the stars. The house benefits from a private gated driveway and off-street parking for three cars. There is an additional outbuilding to use for storing surfboards, wetsuits, bikes and other sports equipment.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests to supply towels for use at the beach or the hot tub. A high chair and travel cot (not bedding) are available on request. One well-behaved dog is welcome through prior arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Short breaks and reduced occupancy rates may be available outside of the school holidays - please get in touch for more information.
