Lovelace is a single storey Victorian stone cottage. The entire accommodation is located on the ground floor with single steps at the entrance, bathroom and utility room. Enter through the front door with stained glass window and step up to the sitting room with wood floor and rugs over, leather sofas, open fire, TV and DVD player, DVDs, games and books. The door opposite leads into the well equipped kitchen with modern wooden table and chairs and open plan cooking area with hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle. From the kitchen it's one step down into the utility room with washing machine, plenty of hanging space for coats, tiled floor for boots, central heating boiler. From there enter the glazed rear porch which leads out onto an enclosed patio area with garden table and chairs high above the stream and the surrounding woodland, giving a sense of a tree house. From the living room the door to the right leads into the main bedroom with a King bed, fitted carpet, wardrobe, leading through to the single bedroom (which can be turned into a twin by arrangement) which in turn has a door with step down to the bathroom. The bathroom is also accessed from the glazed area at the rear of the cottage, so that the whole accommodation forms a ring around the central chimney stack, which serves the open fire in the sitting room.
The picturesque harbour of Porlock Weir is easily reached on foot and has a number of good places to eat and boutique style shops. It is a lovely place for enjoying the view across the Bristol channel and watching the passing boats. A wonderful area for both short and long walks, Lovelace is a short distance from the Southwest coastpath; this can be followed in both directions, one towards the sea in an Easterly direction to walk in and around Porlock Bay to Porlock, Bossington and beyond, the other uphill towards Culbone, where the smallest complete Saxon Church is found. From there walkers continue uphill to moor and farmland and on to Lynton & Lynmouth. For sandy beaches head to Woolacombe. Nearby historic Dunster is well worth a visit and offers much interest in the built and natural environment and a variety of dining options. The nearest golf course is at Minehead.

Our main changeover is Friday. Off season we also offer split weeks from Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday, as well as the option to take a full week from Monday to Monday. Please view the Porlockholidays website for pricing information and contact the owner if more tailored options are required.
We charge a returnable Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
There is free parking at Lovelace. The cottage stands on its own with the nearest accommodation being some 200 metres away and obscured by woodland. The Worthy Toll road across the stream is a private road and our guests do not pay any toll during their stay.
A landscaped area complements the setting of the woodland and the stream next to the cottage. It is steep and inaccessible. The patio area at the rear of the cottage is fully enclosed.
