Exmoor Holidays (a four bedroom cottage with plenty of space) is located in picturesque Porlock, at the very heart of Exmoor’s stunning national park. Offering peace and tranquility, with spectacular sea views, Exmoor Holidays offers everything you need for a truly memorable dog or family friendly holiday, perfect for relaxing and reconnecting with loved ones.
The picturesque traditional Exmoor village of Porlock is very friendly with a strong community spirit and hosts many events to suit all ages throughout the year. There is an excellent selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants locally, and independent boutique shops, many of which are dog friendly. Exmoor Holidays is located in a peaceful lane just a short walk from the welcoming Ship Inn and Porlock village centre.
The point where the moors meet the sea, Porlock is a lovely village with a friendly vibe. For those who enjoy outdoor adventure, the area offers endless opportunities whether you want to be on dry land mountain biking and walking, or on water surfing, paddling or coasteering. Book yourself on an Exmoor Landrover Safari, spend the day fishing or try your hand at country sports. With numerous beach, woodland, and moorland walks directly from the doorstep including the South West Coast Path and 51 mile Coleridge Way, Exmoor Holidays offers the perfect base for walking and active family vacations. One of the owners favourite walks is through the woods, along the beach to the harbour at picturesque Porlock Weir (approx 1.5 miles).
Close to the sea yet surrounded by family attractions you will soon see why many of our guests return year after year. Words cannot describe how beautiful the scenery is when driving to Lynton and Lynmouth where you can enjoy a ride on its Victorian Cliff Railway and visit the nearby Valley of the Rocks with its wild goats perched on the rugged rocks, enjoy wild swimming in the pools near Watersmeet or in the sea at Woody Bay. Enjoy a stroll around medieval Dunster with its Norman castle, and 18th century watermill. The landscape and wildlife on Exmoor is popular with artists and photographers so don’t forget your camera to capture the beautiful Exmoor ponies or in case you are lucky enough to see Exmoor’s famous red deer.

This spacious 4 bedroom cottage comfortably accommodates eight guests + travel cot in four bedrooms. The large secure garden is private and has comfortable patio furnishings, making it perfect for dogs, as well as family barbecues. Enjoy cosy winter evenings relaxing in comfort in front of the wood burning stove and SMART TV in the large lounge/dining room with comfy leather seating and dining table which extends to comfortably seat up to eight guests. Enjoy a sing-a-long around the piano. Fully equipped kitchen and utility with electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble drier.

This welcoming fully equipped holiday home is perfect for multi-generational families as well as groups of friends who wish to retain some privacy (older children or grandparents often enjoy their independence using the ground floor accommodation with its separate lounge/diner and kitchen). The layout of our cottage means that it can be separated into two individual self catering properties, each with a private entrance. This listing is for the house rented as one large four bedroom property with the inter-connecting door unlocked (listed separately elsewhere as Maxwelton and Bracken).
Outside: There is parking immediately outside the house, conveniently close to the front door. The private garden is enclosed, with a sunny terrace and outdoor furniture for summer barbecues.
Additional Information: All utilities, sheets and bath towels are provided. A high chair, travel cot and stair gate can be provided if required - please let the owner know when booking. Short breaks (minimum three nights) are possible outside of peak season, depending on availability. Up to three small or two large well-behaved dogs welcome with prior agreement. Smoking or vaping is not permitted (permitted outside and away from any windows and doors).
