Dairy Cottage is an attractive holiday retreat that can accommodate four or even five guests in two bedrooms. It is perfect for nature lovers looking for easy access out onto Exmoor's rolling moorland, and ideal for those wanting a base to explore the area's many attractions. Welcoming and dog friendly, Dairy Cottage is one of just a few holiday retreats converted from old farm buildings to provide comfortable self-catering for families and couples.
The location offers the best of both worlds, surrounded by pastureland where you will see red deer, hares and the famous Exmoor ponies grazing peacefully, yet it is only two miles for Dulverton, a bustling riverside town with a good choice of eateries and shops. The Bridge Inn pub is also just two miles way for a meal out.
Lace up your walking boots and spend your days exploring the moorland or strolling alongside the River Barle to Dulverton with plenty of places for refreshment at the other end and shops to stock up on provisions if you prefer to cook back at the cottage. Other popular walks include the famous Tarr Steps, the Devil's Punchbowl, the Caractacus Stone and Wimbleball Lake which is also good for fishing, cycling, sailing and kayaking.
For views that will stay with you forever, head further afield and visit Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point (a great spot for a picnic if you are up for the climb) or the Valley of the Rocks with its wild goats.
Nowhere is too far away for a day trip out when you stay at Dairy Cottage. Visit the Exmoor Pony Centre or browse the shops after you have wandered around Dunster Castle. Enjoy some traditional seaside fun at Minehead or some sea air at Lynton and Lynmouth (connected by a cliff-top railway). Picturesque Porlock Weir is also a must to visit.
Whatever you do during the day, you can enjoy returning to a warm welcome at Dairy Cottage and the Dark Sky Reserve of Exmoor by night - what could be nicer than star spotting with your favourite tipple!

Accommodation is single storey and comprises:
Outside: The cottage has a designated off road parking place, along with small enclosed outside areas on each side with the larger being a sun-trap during the afternoon and evening - the perfect place for a glass of wine at the end of the day! Guests are also welcome to use the communal garden which is shared with other guests and has picnic tables to sit and enjoy the lovely views.
Additional information: Wi-fi available at no extra charge. Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome and the owners do not charge extra - all they ask is that for the comfort of all guests, dogs are up to date with flea treatments, they are not left alone in the cottage and all obvious signs of a dog staying are removed before departure. Electricity (including storage heating), bed linen and towels are included in the price (guests to bring beach towels). Please note that whilst the cottage can be booked for five guests, it is on the understanding that there are only two bedrooms and whilst the second triple bedroom has adult-size bunk beds, the room is more suited to children as there is limited storage and a Velux for natural light. Whilst the dining table is large, the owners feel the cottage is best suited for four guests.
