High House glows golden in the way that only Cotswold stone can. The holiday home sleeps six people in three bedrooms, one on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom. It has lots of space for relaxed socialising and suits families, extended families and friends. Whether you arrive in the height of summer when the mature trees shade the garden terrace or on a drizzly winters day when the warmth of the log burner and range cooker lure you indoors, it's a blissful self-catering cottage from which to enjoy the plentiful charms of Chipping Campden and the glorious Cotswolds AONB.
Don't blame us if you find yourself looking in estate agent windows and dreaming of a life in the Cotswolds when staying in Chipping Campden. It is gorgeous with all of the amenities you'd expect in a thriving Cotswold town, including bistros, bars and an excellent delicatessen to address your catering needs. Stroll around town, taking note of the impressive St James Church, whose style reflects the wealth the wool trade brought to the community. Follow a stretch of the 104-mile Cotswold Way footpath, or meander through the beautiful gardens of National Trust Hidcote and Kiftsgate. Local businesses offer bike hire and guided cycling and walking tours for those who want the expertise of someone who knows the area well.
Treat the children to a day at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park, just 15 minutes from High House, with rare breed animals and many activities. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens are also within easy reach, as are Stratford-Upon-Avon and Blenheim Palace. You can go sightseeing in Oxford, blow the budget at Bicester, or visit the Cotswold Motoring Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water.
The Cotswolds has something to offer everyone in any season. It has an authentic old-world charm yet is wonderfully convenient by road or public transport. High House has the cachet of having been designed by Robert Ashbee, who started the Arts and Crafts community in Chipping Campden. Guests love how the owners have retained original features and character while providing a holiday home for the modern era.
