Grayling Cottage is a dog-friendly holiday cottage on the Northumberland Coast. Sleeping four people in two bedrooms, it's ideal for couples or families and has jaw-dropping views over Budle Bay to Lindisfarne Castle. The shape of Budle Bay means you get breathtaking sunsets that are matched in beauty by the spectacular night skies. The sunrises are worth getting up early for, whether you enjoy them from the comfort of your bed or the private beach to which the cottage has direct access. You're only a mile from Bamburgh's shops, eateries and other amenities and three miles from the superb Apple Inn in Lucker, giving you a good choice of options if you'd like a break from self-catering.
It's hard to choose a favourite beach on the Northumberland Coast. They're all stunning. However, the coastline between Budle Bay and Bamburgh rates towards the top, especially when you spot the majestic Bamburgh Castle as you walk south along the shore past Bamburgh's 18-hole golf course. Budle Bay's dunes and mudflats are a haven for waders and wildfowl, and the area is protected as part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. Like most beaches on the Northumberland Coast, those around Budle Bay are dog-friendly all year round, though owners need to keep their pets under control around the wildlife. Budle Bay is popular for kitesurfing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and other watersports between April and October, with surfing lessons and equipment available in Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell.
There are lots of opportunities for energetic adventures when you stay at Grayling Cottage. Things to do during your stay include learning to fly a broomstick at Alnwick Castle and admiring the lovely gardens. Marvel at the quality of Hadrian's Wall, which is still standing some 1,900 years after its construction, cross the causeway to Holy Island, or take a boat trip to the Farne Islands to see seals and puffins. Beach, river and sea fishing are all accessible, or you can treat yourself to an indulgent spa day. However, if you're craving time to relax and do nothing but look at a great view and eat delicious food, you'll find that too.

Outside: The cottage has a deck and access to an enclosed shared garden at the rear of the cottage. East facing, with sentsational views, it has picnic benches and wood-fired pizza ovens/barbecues. There is secure bike storage and off-street parking.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. There are shared laundry facilities in a separate building. A travel cot and high chair can be hired but guests will need to bring cot mattress and bedding. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not allowed.
