The Hoot is a slice of the sublime. The recently-refurbished holiday cottage in Northumbria is in the scenic rural village of Bilton, close to Alnmouth and the spectacular Northumbrian coastline. It's perfect for a luxury escape at any time of the year, with guests enjoying a superb standard of accommodation and an excellent location with stunning walks, exciting bike rides, and fantastic attractions, all within easy reach. The two-bedroom cottage sleeps up to six people with spacious rooms, lovely gardens, and a versatile layout that suits couples, families or friends.
Within 30 minutes are top attractions like Bamburgh Castle, Druridge Bay & Country Park, Hauxley Nature Reserve, the Grace Darling Museum and Alnwick Castle, better known to some as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle are only slightly further. There are mainline trains from Alnmouth to Edinburgh, Newcastle, Durham & York, putting these very different but equally appealing cities at your feet. Other places to see include Warkworth, Morpeth, Amble, and Berwick.
Northumberland, especially the Aln Valley, is known for its enormous views which reach the horizon. As a county, it's widely rural, with huge swathes of it being either farmland, nature reserves, or beautifully wild. The Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a stone's throw away, opening up miles of pristine beaches and breathtaking coastal paths for walking, cycling and horse riding. The Northumberland National Park is around 17 miles or half an hour's drive from The Hoot, with more gorgeous trails for walking and cycling.
All of the amenities you need for a self-catering holiday are nearby in Alnmouth, a village almost too pretty to be real. Settled in around 1150, the shop, cafes, pubs and pastel-coloured houses sit beside the River Aln, where it meets the sea at the vast beach of soft white sand. You can enjoy all of the space and privacy you crave at The Hoot, knowing that everywhere you want to go is all readily accessible.
