About Clematis Cottage at Swardicott Farm

Clematis Cottage at Swardicott Farm is a spacious self-catering holiday home sleeping eight guests in 4 en-suite bedrooms. Sitting in the very heart of North Devon's countryside, the farm is ideal for friends and family to safely explore. Guests have complete use of the games room plus can set up croquet or badminton on the lawn adjacent to the cottage. Children are able to spend endless hours playing in the Wendy house. An exciting addition to the property was a luxury hot tub to accommodate up to eight people, which can be enjoyed at any time of year.

Sitting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Swardicott Farm is an ideal base from which to explore Devon and its many attractions. The coastline is easy to reach by car offering some of the cleanest beaches in the country, including the Blue Flag beach at Woolacombe. There are also plenty of watersports opportunities where you can try your hand at windsurfing, surf-skiing and kayaking from the local beaches that are just a short drive away.

The market towns of Bideford and Barnstaple are both within easy reach and provide the perfect mix of old world charm and modern shopping, along with a good choice of eating establishments. There is also a traditional village pub just one mile away and other local outdoor pursuits include trout fishing both in local lakes and on the River Torridge.

Whatever you decide to do, you can return to your cottage at the end of the day and enjoy the stunning views of Dartmoor, the peace and quiet of the garden, or wander around the farm to spot wildlife in the surrounding fields or by the lake.

Clematis Cottage has been awarded Four Star Gold and also has M2 Mobility Rating. Completely modernised, whilst retaining all of the barns unique features, Clematis Cottage utilises sustainable energy and is heated by a Biomass wood burner with logs produced from the woodland on the farm.

Accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

Two steps lead up to the main entrance.
Living room with comfortable seating, dining table with chairs, internet enabled widescreen television, DVD player, radio clock (which has iPod docking) and Wi-Fi internet access.
Kitchen with dishwasher, washer/tumble dryer, electric cooker with double oven, microwave and large fridge freezer.
Downstairs bedroom which provides flexible sleeping offering the option of being made up as a double bed or two singles. There is also an additional sofa bed, along with an en-suite wet room which is suitable for wheelchair users.

First floor

Two double/twin bedrooms each with an en-suite shower room (one also has a sofa bed).
Third upstairs bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom.

Additional information: There is a games room for guest enjoyment equipped with table tennis, a selection of games and a snooker table. BBQ available. Plenty of car parking and bike storage. Dogs are welcome at an additional charge of £10 per dog per night. Prices include electricity, bed linen and bath towels.
