Whitwell Railway Station offers two holiday cottages that are set in two acres of land, overlooking beautiful rolling hills, English hedgerows and Whitwell Village.

The Ventnor West line originally opened in 1897 and was often referred to as "one of the prettiest branch lines in England".  Today the bustle and trains have long gone, but you can still recall the bygone days of steam and almost hear the trains when sitting on the platform.

The original Victorian waiting rooms have been tastefully converted into two holiday cottages and still retain the original atmosphere of the days of steam. Each cottage is thoughtfully furnished to provide comfortable three star accommodation and the owners have taken great care to make your stay as enjoyable as possible with all the home comforts you will need. 

Each cottage has two upstairs bedrooms with one being a double and the other being a twin.  There is a further adult foldaway bed available providing additional sleeping facilities should it be required along with a cot, stairgate and high chair.

The Village of Whitwell has an interesting history along with the nearby town of Ventnor, both reflecting Victorian times. Within a five minute walk from the cottages is the renowned village pub and a garage. There is also a Post Office and store within a five minute drive.

This is the perfect position to explore the local villages or enjoy the coastal walks and beach resorts, all being within easy distance.   It is a delightful island to explore with its quiet leafy lanes and bridle paths and lovely rolling countryside.  For outdoor enthusiasts, cycling and walking are a must and there is also horse riding, fishing (at ponds) and golf nearby.

Some of the prettiest views on the Island can be seen from the village of Whitwell and its surrounding areas and this is a lovely holiday destination at any time of the year.
