224 Brambles Chine boasts some of the finest views on the Isle of Wight. The charming holiday cottage is in a family-friendly holiday park above Colwell Bay, within walking distance of the beach and the wonderful Isle of Wight coastal path. The south-facing chalet is on the edge of the holiday park and not overlooked. You can relax and enjoy the panoramic views over Colwell Bay to the Needles in peace. The owners use the chalet as their personal holiday cottage, so you can trust that it is fully equipped with all of those little things that make a holiday cottage feel like a proper home. It's perfect for couples or families, sleeping four people in two bedrooms with an open plan living area.
Having to take a ferry across to the Solent only adds to the excitement of going on holiday! Freshwater is on the northwest coast of the Isle of Wight, only two miles from Yarmouth, where the ferry arrives from Lymington. It's half an hour's drive from East Cowes if you take the ferry from Southampton or 40 minutes from Fishbourne, where the ferry from Portsmouth docks. One of the many fantastic features of this scenic island is that it's only 22 miles at its widest point, so you never have to spend very long in the car to get anywhere. There's so much to see and do - all of it is within easy reach of the cottage, yet it feels relaxed and unhurried, with lots of quiet spots to laze about in the sunshine.
Local attractions include The Needles and the landmark lighthouse, Blackgang Chine, Tapnell Farm Park, and the Isle of Wight Aqua Park. Alum Bay Beach never fails to impress, while other beaches near Freshwater include Totland Bay and Brook Beach. Carisbrooke Castle (English Heritage) and Mottistone Manor Gardens (National Trust) are two more special places to add to your holiday itinerary. Hire a kayak or a SUP to explore around the coast, or let someone else do the hard work and book a seat on a sightseeing boat tour. Walking and cycling are two more fun ways to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings, and there is lots of opportunity for sailing and fishing.
Admire the incredible collections at Osborne House, Queen Victoria's favourite holiday home in England. If you're one for historic buildings, then you should also add Farringford and St Agnes Church to your list of things to do. Elsewhere on the island, attractions include Dinosaur Isle, Ventnor Botanic Gardens, the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, and Shanklin Chine. There really is a huge variety of places to visit in any season, regardless of your age and interests. It's no surprise that some of the guests who stay at 224 Brambles Chine are annual visitors.

224 Brambles Chine is a traditional single-storey brick chalet on the edge of a quiet holiday park overlooking Colwell Bay.
Outside: A south-facing patio with a picnic table and a parasol is a perfect spot for lazy alfresco meals. Guests have shared use of a big lawn. There is a rotary clothes line outside the cottage for drying washing and wetsuits, and a place to padlock bikes securely. A storage container holds outdoor chairs, a barbecue and beach toys. There is parking next to the chalet.
Additional Information: Utilities and WiFi are included.
Duvets, blankets and pillows are provided. Beds will be made ready for use with towels provided for each guest. Please bring your own beach towels.
Smoking and pets are not permitted. Changeover day is Saturday (arrival time is from 15:00 and departure at the end of stay is by 10:00).
