About Garden Apartment

Garden Apartment is a stylish self-catering holiday home in a superb location within a short stroll of Shanklin beach, cafes, shops and restaurants. With space for three people to sleep in two bedrooms, a private conservatory, private courtyard, original beams and a period fireplace, it's a wonderfully welcoming space where couples and families can enjoy their time on the Isle of Wight. The ground-floor apartment is one of five beautifully appointed holiday properties in a converted Victorian townhouse. Each is completely self-contained and can, depending on availability, be booked together to accommodate extended families (13 guests) and friends who want to holiday with each other without sacrificing personal space and privacy.

Shanklin is on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, between Sandown and Ventnor. It's the ideal spot for anyone who wants a stress-free holiday because everything, including a mainline train station, is within walking distance for those who don't drive or don't want to drive. Bicycle hire is available locally. Jump on the saddle and explore the island via more than 200 miles of cycle paths that link 57 miles of coastline with scenic countryside and pretty villages. If your preferred way to discover new places is on foot, you'll be overjoyed with 500 miles of footpaths covering every quirk and corner.

Start your holiday with a stroll through the village, passing historic thatched cottages en route to the wide sandy beach where you can swim and sunbathe to your heart's content. Walk along the esplanade past colourful beach huts or along the coastal footpath to Sandown or Ventnor. Local attractions include Pirate Cove, the Shanklin Theatre, Jurassic Bay Adventure Golf, and Shanklin Chine. One of the Isle of Wight benefits as a holiday destination is that it is only 23 miles long and 13 miles wide, so nothing is very far from anywhere. Attractions within a few miles include Ventnor Botanic Gardens, The Needles and Alum Bay, walking trails at Wooton Bridge, the Isle of Wight Zoo and the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. Osborne House, Blackgang Chine and the sailing town of Cowes are also within easy reach.

The southerly location of the Isle of Wight means it's an attractive and welcoming place to visit in every season. Garden Apartment puts you exactly where you want to be - within a fifteen minute walk from the beach and close to everything you'll want to see and do.

Accommodation Comprises:

Garden Apartment is on the lower ground floor. It is accessed via 12 steps from a street level to the private entrance. Once inside, accommodation is all on one level.

  • Cosy living/dining room with a flame-effect electric fire in the brick fireplace, and period beams. Glass doors into the conservatory ensure the room gets lots of natural light. Settle back on one of two sofas and watch the Smart TV, read, or chat about how amazing your day was. The dining table with three chairs is in the living dining room area.
  • Private shady courtyard area lit with festoon lights, perfect for relaxing with a drink or morning coffee.
    Light filled conservatory with dining table & cane chairs. Plus a rocking chair to relax in.
  • Fitted kitchen well-equipped for simple or sophisticated self-catering, to suit your needs. Appliances include a ceramic hob, efficient oven, dishwasher, under counter fridge & under counter freezer & that all important Nespresso machine.
  • Master bedroom with a king-size bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and proper storage.
    Second bedroom with a single bed and storage.
  • Bathroom with a Bath and separate shower, WC and a hand basin. Heated towel rail.


Outside:

The apartment has on-site parking and there is a well-maintained garden for guests to share. Guests also have access to a communal washing machine and tumble dryer.

Additional Information:

Utilities, Top Speed WiFi, sheets and bath towels are included. Guests to provide beach towels if they are required. Short breaks (minimum of three nights or two at short notice) are possible, depending on availability. Pets and smoking are not permitted.
