About The Stable at Buddle Place

This is an ideal base for exploring the Island, there is plenty to see locally including St.Catherine’s Lighthouse just a few minutes walk from the cottage and access to the coastal path and cycle routes. Ventnor Botanical Gardens with its own micro climate is a short drive away. The theme park at Blackgang Chine is about 10 minutes by car and further afield is Robin Hill Country Park. English Heritage runs Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne house. National Trust locations are to be found at The Needles, Mottistone, Newtown Nature Reserve and Bembridge Windmill. There are many beautiful beaches around the Island, close to The Stable are Steephill Cove and Ventnor, both excellent for swimming.

  • The Stable is a period stone property with accommodation on one level, it is located within the grounds of a Grade II Listed Farmhouse, furnished in a contemporary style throughout.
  • Open plan living/dining with views over the garden and English Channel beyond. Wooden white washed floorboards throughout the cottage
  • The living room has three three-seater sofas and a Smart TV, a large picture window looks over the garden,
  • Dining table with six chairs and a window that faces a barn.
  • Shaker style kitchen with modern appliances, pots and pans
  • Double bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite walk-in-shower, WC and hand basin.
  • Twin bedroom, two single beds and built in wardrobe, window looking over the garden towards the farmhouse.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds which are ideal for younger children as lower to the ground, built in wardrobe, window looking towards the parking area.
  • Family bathroom has a bath, shower over the bath, WC. & basin
  • Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bedlinen and towels are provided. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
  • Outside: The Stable has a south-facing terrace with chairs and a table, laid with lawn and flowerbeds, mature shrubs and a large outcrop of sandstone rock thus making the garden very sheltered from prevailing winds. The garden shed has sun loungers, bbq, parasol and a clothes rotary drier. A tumble drier is available located in the garage.
  • Parking is for one car as the driveway is shared, further parking can be found just down the road.

The Stable at Buddle Place Noticeboard

We can offer car ferry discounts with Redfunnel and Wightlink. Mobile phone signal can be patchy, but WIFI calling works well. The beach at Castlehaven is only accessed at low tide over the rocks, but you can swim from the slipway.
