Enford House Cottage is located in the heart of Salisbury Plain in the charming Wiltshire village of Enford. The cottage is perfect for those who simply want to relax and unwind in a peaceful setting, as well as guests looking for a base for exploring the areas many attractions. World famous Stonehenge, Avebury stone circles, the Roman City of Bath and Salisbury are all within easy reach. There are also two great pubs within walking distance for a meal out.
The cottage, which sleeps six in three ensuite bedrooms (all with televisions), is part of an 18th Century grade II listed manor house and provides home from home comforts with a kitchen well equipped for self-catering, towels and comfy beds topped with quality linen. There is WiFi throughout the cottage and a separate games room where guests can play pool or table tennis / table football. Children also have a swing and slide to play on in the fully enclosed garden (the garden gate can be closed for keeping dogs and children in). The Swan pub in the village serves good food and is just a two minute walk away. The Red Lion is also walkable (twenty minutes by foot or a two minute drive) and has a Pub Michelin Star. There are lovely walks around the village and directly onto Salisbury Plain.
Enford House Cottage is a great base for seeing local tourist attractions. Stonehenge is a must to visit with UNESCO World Heritage status and just ten minutes by car. Whilst not as large, the stone circles at Avebury are also impressive (twenty five minutes); as is Salisbury Cathedral; the Iron Age Hill Fort of Old Sarum (the views over Salisbury Plains are magnificent!); and Longleat House, Grounds and Safari Park. The market town of Marlborough is a twenty minute drive, as are the market towns of Devizes and Pewsey; and there are plenty of child friendly activities nearby at Bowood, Wilton House, The Museum of Army Flying, Hawk Conservancy, Cholderton Charlie’s Farm and Paultons Park (home of Peppa Pig).
Centrally located, Enford House Cottage is an excellent base for visiting the abundance of attractions this area has to offer, as well as being a delightful setting to simply relax.
