The Old Stable at Crockerton House provides stylish welcoming holiday accommodation for two guests. Secluded and beautifully converted, this delightful holiday cottage affords wonderful views of the Wylye Valley and is a perfect hideaway for couples looking to escape the pressures of everyday life and unwind in a peaceful and luxurious setting.
The cottage has recently been sympathetically converted from a 19th century stable to offer both modern comforts, along with lovely original features including barn doors, roof beams, brickwork and weathervane.
Set in secluded rural surroundings within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Old Stable is located away from the main house. It is convenient for country pubs, restaurants and shops along with popular tourist attractions including Longleat, Salisbury, Bath, Stonehenge, Shaftesbury, Stourhead and Wells, all within twenty miles.
The village of Crockerton is located in Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs where the Shearwater Stream becomes the River Wylye. It has the Bath Arms pub and Restaurant where you can enjoy a meal or you can stroll to Shearwater Lake which has a tearoom (open occasionally), fishing and sailing. A little further up the road are Wylye Valley Vineyard which has a shop selling local produce and also the Wylye Valley Cycle Route which takes you through lovely countryside and villages to Wilton.
For those who are happy to travel a little further afield, Cheddar Caves, Clarks Retail Outlet Village, Glastonbury Abbey, the historic sea port of Bristol, Royal hunting ground of the New Forest, ancient English capital of Winchester, Dorset Heritage Coast, Thomas Hardy Country and the Cotswolds are all within easy reach.
