The Burrow is in the Vale of Pewsey, at the end of a country lane on family-run Conygre Farm. The holiday home is ideal for families, sleeping six people in three bedrooms with gorgeous rural views and fantastic opportunities for walking and cycling from the front door. Onsite amenities include a heated indoor swimming pool whilst the White Hart pub in Burbage is a pleasant fifteen minute stroll away.
Conygre Farm is in the quiet hamlet of Easton Royal in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The views are of beautiful Wiltshire countryside as far as the eye can see, yet the cottage is only a 10-minute drive from historic Marlborough. Marlborough is a busy market town with excellent amenities and attractions that include Merlin's Mound, reputed to be the resting site of the mythical (or is he?) wizard. The Duchess of Cambridge is very familiar with the charms of Marlborough, having attended Marlborough College. There is a twice-weekly market and a wide choice of shops for buying provisions for your self-catering stay, as well as a variety of eateries that include Rick Stein's restaurant for dining out.
It's so easy to keep everyone happy when you stay at The Burrow. Without even leaving the farm, you can enjoy peaceful walks, splashing in the indoor pool. Venture out of the gate for trails leading to Milton Lilbourne, Pewsey, Jones’s Mill Nature Reserve, and the Kennet & Avon Canal. There are routes to suit all abilities and any season, with places like Gopher Woods and the Pewsey Downs being particularly lovely in autumn when you can forage in the hedgerows for treats like wild blackberries and rose-hips. Cyclists are also spoiled with a good choice of road routes and off-road trails.
Days out can include visiting Stonehenge and other pre-historic sites at Avebury and Silbury Hill. You can drive to Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its stunning Roman baths and Georgian architecture. Oxford's spires and the majesty of Blenheim Palace are also around an hour away from Conygre Farm, while Salisbury and Winchester are even closer.
The Burrow is one of two spacious self-catering cottages on Conygre Farm. Depending on availability, they can be booked together to accommodate extended families or groups of up to 13 friends. Bookings are available from Easter to October half term each year.
