Woodpecker Cottage is one of two charming Four Star holiday cottages situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Hutton Le Hole within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The cottages offer a lovely setting for families, couples or friends wanting a short break or longer holiday in this beautiful part of North Yorkshire. With easy access to some of the most stunning scenery, this is a perfect base for exploring the areas many attractions or simply enjoy a relaxing holiday.
For the active, the area has lots of wonderful walks and country lanes that cyclists can explore. For golfers, the Neighbouring small market town of Kirkbymoorside also has an eighteen hole golf course.
Hutton Le Hole is possibly one of the prettiest villages in the North York Moors with tea shops, a pub serving good food and riverside picnic areas. It is also home to the Ryedale Folk Museum where you can learn about traditional Yorkshire village life (guests receive a free family entry ticket while staying at the cottages). The cottages are just a five minute drive from Kirkbymoorside and provide easy access to the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby, Saltburn, Runswick Bay, Sand's end and Robin Hood's Bay.
There are a whole host of interesting places to visit in and around the surrounding area. The City of York is just forty five minutes away by car with its numerous attractions including the Railway museum, York Minster, Jorvik Viking centre, horse racing and great shops and restaurants. Other attractions include the stately home of Castle Howard; Flamingoland theme park and zoo; Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum and Scampton Hall, one of North Yorkshire's finest regency country houses.
