Low Crossett Cottage sleeps two guests and offers single level self-catering with plenty of space for relaxing. Beamed vaulted ceilings add to the lovely sense of space, and a log burner for cosy nights and south-facing garden for when the sun shines, give Low Crossett Cottage all year round appeal.
Detached, Low Crossett Cottage nestles on a small dales hill farm amongst the beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and its position affords superb views. Offering a taste of county life, you can spend your days soaking up the tranquility that surrounds, or venture out and explore the many attractions throughout the moors. Walking and cycling are popular pursuits with miles of wonderful footpaths and byways to explore straight from the cottage front door. The Cleveland Way and Coast to Coast long distance trails are also within easy reach.
Chop Gate is the nearest village standing on its own surrounded by moorland scenery with a traditional inn. A little further is the North York Moors only market town, Helmsley with a good choice of pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants. The town has its own brewery, as well as the National Birds of Prey Centre and a magnificent medieval castle keeping a watchful eye over the town. Stokesley is also within easy reach with an ancient high street packed with eateries and independent shops, a leisure centre and golf course, or head to Kirkbymoorside, Thirsk or Pickering.
There are country houses with glorious gardens to stroll around such as Castle Howard and Duncombe Park, and magnificent abbeys such as Whitby, Rievaulx or Jervaulx Abbey. Take a nostalgic trip on the North York Moors Steam Railway or explore the tracks, trails and tree tops of Dalby Forest.
For those happy to venture further afield, Yorkshire's stunning coastline and the City of York are within driving distance for a day trip out, as is Richmond, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
