About Six Tors Road

Six Tors Road is in the popular Devon location of Lynmouth, with space for up to eight people to sleep in four bedrooms. It's a sizeable end-terrace holiday rental beside the East Lyn River and within walking distance of the beach, cliff railway, cafes, shops and the Ancient Mariner pub. The owners have chosen a stylish mix of mid-century inspired furnishings and cleverly combined bright colours with natural shades that reflect the vibrant beauty of the natural surroundings. The layout is excellent for big families. Two bedrooms have zip and link beds, and there are three bathrooms, so it's also ideal for a self-catering stay with extended families and friends.

Although the village known fondly as "Little Switzerland" has been a popular place for a day trip since Victorian times, it's rare to find a riverside holiday cottage in Lynmouth, making this place even more special. You're just steps away from the path leading you beside the river towards the harbour shops and other amenities. Spend some time building sandcastles on the beach before walking a stretch of the South West Coast Path, visiting the Lyn and Exmoor Museum, or enjoying a ride on the water-powered funicular that has linked Lynmouth with Lynton since 1890. You can also follow the East Lyn River to National Trust Watersmeet or walk out to the Valley of the Rocks to see wild goats and breathtaking coastal views.

Staying in the Exmoor National Park gives you a wide variety of activities and attractions. Things to do include visiting Exmoor Zoo or Ilfracombe Aquarium, seeing the impressive gardens at Arlington Court, swimming, coasteering, mountain biking, walking, and horse riding. Treat the kids to a day at The Big Sheep, the Combe Martin Dinosaur and Wildlife Park, or The Milky Way Adventure Park, and book a sightseeing boat trip for a better view of the caves and coves used by smugglers. There are castles and ghost tours for those who like things spooky, and wildlife tours and sea safaris for guests who want to learn more about the huge variety of birds and animals that thrive under the protection of the national park.

Six Tors Road is a beautiful extended period property with lots of space and stylish interiors.

Ground Floor:

  • Living room with a huge bay window and mid-century inspired furnishings in warm colours immediately make you want to settle down and relax. It's lovely during the day with natural light flooding in, and cosy at night with the warm light from the log burner and your favourite film on the Smart TV.
  • Colour has been used to great effect in the modern kitchen. A glossy SMEG fridge and modern range in the juiciest orange pairs beautifully with deep green subway tiles and neutral wooden cupboards. Integrated appliances include a dishwasher and a large Bosch oven.
  • Flowing on from the kitchen, an extension houses the dining room. Skylights, glass doors, comfortable seating, and clever use of colour and pattern make this another stylish space where you can relax and enjoy lingering over meals with family and friends.
  • A separate utility room with a family-sized washing machine and tumble dryer is a practical addition for groups. There is also space to hang coats and leave wet boots.
  • Vibrant orange tiles mixed with clean white walls and chrome accents feature the downstairs shower room. It has a walk-in shower, heated towel rail and WC.

First Floor:

  • Zesty lime tiles, white his-and-hers basins and toilet, and timber accents are in the first-floor shower room.
  • Depending on your needs, zip and link beds can be set up either as two twin beds or a super-king. The room has proper storage and beds are made up for your arrival.
  • A huge double room has a super-king sized bed, storage, and seating to make the most of the riverfront views.

Second Floor:

  • A light-filled room with a dormer window and leafy views sleeps two people either in two single beds or one sumptuous super-king.
  • High ceilings, river views, a designer light, and a super-king sized bed feature in the master bedroom. This room has a private ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • There's a cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The house has a sheltered patio accessible through the kitchen. It's wonderfully sunny, with a retractable awning to shade you from the summer heat, a barbecue, and seating.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests will need to provide fuel for the log burner/barbecue and beach towels if they are required. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
