Holiday in the Exmoor National Park

A National Park since 1954, this upland area is home to some of the best wildlife to be seen in the British Isles. With moorland, woodland, a vast coastline with some of the highest cliffs in England and flowing rivers, the wildlife in this area is plentiful and diverse. With an 'Environmentally Sensitive Area' and 'Sites of Special Scientific Interest', flora and fauna enthusiasts will be in their element.

A place for both peaceful recreation and invigorating activities, Exmoor boasts a truly beautiful backdrop for relaxing walks, hikes and horse rides, as well as golf courses and exhilarating mountain bike routes such as the Tarka Trail between Braunton and Meeth. When you've had enough exercise, there are many pretty villages dotted all over the area to stop at and explore with plenty of good old fashioned traditional inns to enjoy a pint!

The sporting activities don't end on dry land. The long stretch of beautiful coastline makes Exmoor a great location for water sports such as sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. For those who want to take it at a slower pace, there are a variety of scenic freshwater and saltwater fishing spots.

For the history-seekers, Exmoor is home to a number of fascinating buildings that are well worth a visit, such as the peaceful Cleeve Abbey near Washford, or the intriguing gothic mansion at Knightshayes Court in Tiverton. The national park also has plenty of attractions to keep the younger ones happy on holiday, along with your four legged friends with miles of wonderful walks and plenty of great dog-friendly days out.

A great location to truly get away from it all and relax in beautiful surroundings.
