The Pippins is a delightful, one bedroomed, self catering cottage set within the grounds of Cedar House. It has been awarded 4 Star Gold status by EnjoyEngland for the last three years and is an ideal home from home and base from which to explore the surrounding, stunning countryside.
Cedar House is a charming Edwardian countryside house that sits in one and a half acres of grounds with superb views over West Somerset. Offering both bed and breakfast and two self-catering holiday homes within the grounds, Cedar House has holiday accommodation to suit all needs.
Located near to Minehead and Dunster, on the outskirts of the village of Old Cleeve, Cedar House nestles on the edge of Exmoor National Park and is easily accessible from the Midlands and London. Positioned in a coastal strip between the National Park and the coast, Cedar House is well placed for exploring the historic, diverse and unique landscape of West Somerset and with its lovely mild micro-climate, it is perfect at any time of year.
With a choice of two individual holiday cottages, there is self-catering accommodation ideal for couples, families or groups of friends. Larger groups of six can also be accommodated when both cottages are hired together. With distant views of Exmoor and the coast, this is a great location for walkers, golfers and cyclists. Each cottage is well equipped and has its own garden with furniture, free Wi-Fi access, off-road parking and access to all the grounds.
The area offers plenty of interesting places to visit and attractions. Minehead with its tree lined avenues, beach, harbour and great floral displays is just ten minutes away. Exmoor and the Quantock Hills are nearby and popular with horse riders, walkers and cyclists. Dunster with its beautiful 13th Century castle and octagonal Yarn Market is only six minutes in the car and the picturesque harbour village of Watchet is three miles away and definitely worth visiting with its new marina and fossil hunting.
Visit Lynton and take a trip on the funicular railway down the cliff to the pretty seaside resort of Lynmouth at the bottom - a forty five minute journey by car and great day out. The West Somerset Railway at Minehead provides a relaxing way of enjoying the beauty of the rural landscape and other places of interest include: Bakelite Museum at Williton; Cleeve Abbey at Washford; Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole caves; Doone Valley for pony trekking; Glastonbury Tor and Wells Cathedral; Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor; Porlock Weir and harbour; the county town of Taunton with race course and Somerset County Cricket home ground; Selworthy National Trust Village and Washford Station Railway Museum.
