Poppets is a delightful one bedroom holiday cottage that sleeps two guests offering single level accommodation that is ideal for couples looking for a romantic break (and singles). Located in the grounds of the owners home in the pretty village of Buxted, East Sussex, Poppets affords lovely countryside views. Ideal for walkers, guests have direct access from the front door to enjoy the lovely walks within the High Weald AONB.
The cottage is beautifully furnished and is approached by a private driveway lined with rhododendron (a lovely sight in the spring when in flower) which leads to both the cottage and owners house.
Situated on the southern fringe of the Ashdown Forest, Poppets is ideal for walkers, cyclists and those who enjoy horse riding. It is an ideal base for exploring the counties of Sussex and Kent with easy access to Glyndebourne, cosmopolitan Brighton with plenty of attractions, Lewes with its majestic castle, the historic fishing town of Rye and Royal Tunbridge Wells with its lovely shops and restaurants. Poppets is just over an hour from London by train and within forty minutes you can be at the coast enjoying a day by the sea! There are also many historic houses and gardens open to the public in the area, along with castles and county pubs with something for all pallets from pub meals to fine dining.

Poppets Cottage is a compact, extremely bright and cheerful holiday home that has been beautifully furnished. It affords views over the garden and has been decorated in a vintage country style which has been accentuated by stripped floorboards, hand painted pieces of country style furniture and pretty fabrics.
Accommodation comprises:
Outside: Guests have a designated lawn area for sitting out and enjoying a bottle of wine at the end of the day as the sun sets, and also a small courtyard in a private setting for those who want complete privacy. To the side of the cottage is a greenhouse and two vegetable beds which the owners use - they are more than happy for you to help yourself to an growing produce (if the rabbits don't beat you to them!).
Additional information: Prices include electricity, gas central heating, linen for the bed and towels, along with kitchen essentials (including washing up liquid/powder, toilet rolls, tea etc), welcome basket of logs/coals for the barbecue (summer months). Well mannered dogs are welcome but the owners ask that you do not bring them if they will not get on with their own dog, could eat their pet rabbit or are likely to want to sit on the sofas or bed! Strictly NO smoking. A central heating system keeps the cottage warm all year round. Wireless internet is also provided.
