Granary Cottages offer three charming new holiday homes that sit in a rural position nestling amongst countryside in the heart of the East Sussex close to Chiddingly village (famed for its festival!) Here guests can enjoy peace and tranquility and beautiful distant views of the Southdowns.
The holiday cottages are situated at Holdens Farm within what was formerly the farm granary. Whilst benefiting from quality modern fittings throughout, the cottages still retain original character and charm.
Barley Cottage is featured within this advert and is the largest of them all sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms. It is available for short term lets and the owner's aim is to ensure your holiday is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, ensuring all the conveniences of home.
East Sussex has much to offer visitors of all ages. The beautiful local village of Chiddingly is just over a mile away and home to the popular Six Bells pub and famous Chiddingly Festival. The market town of Hailsham is six and a half miles away providing a selection of small local shops as well as the nearest supermarket (Tesco). Each week on a Wednesday, cattle markets take place in the town which also has access onto the Cuckoo Trail, a disused railway line ideal for walking and cycling.
The beautiful historic town of Rye (one of the Cinque Ports) is within easy reach and certainly worth travelling to if your stay permits. With medieval church, enchanting cobbled streets and beautifully preserved historic houses, Rye is almost suspended in time and has a uniquely relaxed atmosphere as if time has stood still. Eastbourne is worthy of a visit, not only for its wide selection of shops but also for its famous carpet gardens, pier and also Beachy Head for stunning views. The vibrant cosmopolitan seaside town of Brighton has much to offer with its beautiful beaches, regular events, great attractions, fabulous shopping and excellent selection of eating establishments. Lewes, the County Town of Sussex, is a beautiful town with its castle making a wonderful backdrop. With many unique architectural features and some great small shops offering gifts and local produce, it is an interesting place to visit.
There are also a good selection of local attractions including: Glebe Field Riding School (just over a mile away) where you can enjoy a riding lesson set within sixty acres of private woodland; Drusillas Park (just over eight miles) is reputed to be the best small zoo in the country and has a fantastic range of animals to see in wonderful environments, along with a Thomas the Tank Engine Railway, a children's adventure playground and family restaurants; and Blackberry Farm (just under four miles away) with around two hundred animals including ponies, lamas, deer and pigs to name just a few - with indoor and large outdoor play areas, animal handling, tractor rides and picnic areas.
